Objective: In order to survey the mental health status of psychiatric medical staff in Jilin province and to study the related factors effecting on mental health status of psychiatric medical staff. Then put forward the corresponding countermeasures and raise the level of psychiatric medical staff’s mental health.Methods: Using questionnaire to collect data, adopted questionnaires were composed by Basic Personal Information, Symptom Self-assessment Scale(SCL- 90), Social Support Scale(SSS) and Question Coping Style Questionnaire. Provided 832 questionnaires to 15 psychiatric hospital medical staff, then recycled 759 effective questionnaires, and the coefficient of recovery was 91.12%. Using Epi Data3.1 software to enter the data with double, and use SPSS17.0 to analysis the data statistics. Statistical description use one-factor analysis of variance and multiple regression analysis. Use mean ± standard deviation to describe the measurement data, the counting material is in the form of constituent ratio to statistical description, the related factors impacting of medical staff’s mental health with single factor and the multiple stepwise regression analysis, and so on. Then to explore the factors that influence the mental health of medical staffs, and to clarify the effect of social support and coping style on the mental health of medical staffs.Results: 759 psychiatric medical staff compared with national norm standard 1986, somatization factor is higher than the norm, differences were very statistically significant; force, interpersonal relationship, depression paranoia, psychosis factor is lower than the norm, the difference was very statistically significant. The different age, marriage, education, professional qualifications, occupation, work hours, income in SCL- 90 score, the differences were statistically significant. Gender had no effect on the social support of psychiatric nurses. Age, marriage, education, occupation, working years, job title, income of staff social support score, differences were statistically significant. Gender and marriage had no effect on coping style of psychiatric nurses. Age, educational background, system, occupation, working years and income for coping style of medical, differences were statistically significant. Correlation analysis for SCL – 90, social support and coping styles of Psychiatric nurses, the difference was statistically significant, but the correlation coefficient is smaller. Social support, subjective support, objective support, support utilization and positive coping five with the total score of SCL- 90 were negatively correlated; negative coping with the total score of SCL- 90 were positively correlated. Subjective support, exploitation degree, positive response, and income with psychiatric mental health status of the medical staff were positively correlated, with coping and working life were negatively correlated.Conclusion: Psychiatric medical staff SCL- 90 score of somatization factor score higher than the national norm in Jilin province, forcing factor, interpersonal relationship, depression, etc is lower than the norm; There are different degrees of influences for social support and coping styles, like different age, marriage, education, job title, occupation, working years, income and so on. Social support, subjective support, objective support, support utilization and positive coping five aspects with the total score of SCL- 90 were negatively correlated; negative coping with the total score of SCL- 90 were positively correlated. Subjective support, exploitation degree, positive response, year income were positively correlated, negative coping and working life were negatively correlated for Psychiatric mental health status of the medical staff.
