Atrial fibrillation(AF), the most common cardiac arrhythmia, is a major cause of stroke. Catheter ablation is currently recommended as an interventional alternative for the treatment of patients with AF, periprocedural anticoagulation has been proved to be of prime importance. Warfarin and new oral anticoagulants were approved for the prevention of stroke or embolism in patients with nonvalvular AF. There were many studies had explored the safety and efficiency of the oral anticoagulants applying for periprocedural anticoagulation in AF ablation. However, There is no unified opinion of periprocedural anticoagulation strategies for the patients undergoing catheter ablation of AF. This article reviews the studies of periprocedural oral anticoagulants in the patients undergoing catheter ablation of AF. |
