Objective:To observe the effects of Zhigancao Decoction in improvement of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity in breast cancer patients. Methods:A total of 40 patients were divided into chemotherapy group and Zhigancao Decoction group randomly. All patients who were confirmed to be breast cancer by pathology, had no angiocardiopathy and their test in ECG,myocardial enzyme and c Tn T were normal before the operation. At the same time, their tumor have not been transferred to other organs. Two adjuvant chemotherapy initiated on the 7th-14 th day after operation.Patients in the chemotherapy group received threeweekly concurrent Epirubicin and Docetaxel for 6 cycles. The ones in the Zhigancao Decoction group received threeweekly concurrent TE regmin with Zhigancao Decoction for 6 cycles.Records the change of ECG,CK-MB,BNP,LVEF,c Tn T in the two group after chemotherapy. Results:The difference of cardiotoxicity between different upon comparing the ECG change,LVEF,c Tn T and BNP values of the two groups before and after chemotherapy. We observed that the Zhigancao Decoction treatment group had lesser incidence rates of abnormal ECG and significantly decreased LVEF,c Tn T and BNP values compared with the chemotherapy group(P<0.05). Conclusions:On current evidence,Zhigancao Decoction is probably effective for the prevention and treatment of cardiotoxicity in breast cancer patients induced by anthracycline drugs.
