| Objective: To investigate the role of Pim-3 aberrant expression in the development of acute leukemia. Methods: Semi-quantitative RT-PCR were used to detect the expression of Pim-3 in bone marrow tissue of 47 cases the untreated patients with acute leukemia and 18 cases after treatment with chemotherapy in patients with acute leukemia. At the same time, collection of 10 cases of no hematologic malignancies as normal control group. We also compare the difference of the Pim-3 gene expression in bone marrow tissue of the three groups. Results: According to the fluorescence quantitative PCR detection results: the Pim-3 expression quantity in bone marrow tissue of pre chemotherapy in acute myeloid leukemia(AML) patients were all significantly lower than those in no hematologic malignancies(P<0.01). There were no significant differences for the Pim-3 expression quantity between post chemotherapy in patients with acute myeloid leukemia and no hematologic malignancies(P>0.05). But the Pim-3 expression quantity was observed to have significantly lower in pre chemotherapy in patients compared with post chemotherapy(P<0.01). Compared pre and post chemotherapy in acute myeloid leukemia(AML) patients of the remission group. The Pim-3 expression quantity of pre chemotherapy were all significantly lower than those after chemotherapy(P<0.01). But there were no significant differences between pre and post chemotherapy of the non-remission group(P>0.05). The Pim-3 expression quantity of non-remission patients after chemotherapy were all significantly lower than those remission patients after chemotherapy(P<0.01).Conclusion: Pim-3 gene was abnormally expression in pre and post chemotherapy of acute myeloid leukemia(AML) patients. And the gene may be involved in the occurrence of acute myeloid leukemia development. |
