The Treatment Observation Of Lifting Soft Tissue Contour Of Lower Face With Botulinum Toxin Type A

Objective:To explore the effect of lifting soft tissue contour of the lower face with botulinum toxin type A.Methods:We collected fifty patients who were given Botox injecting treatment to lift the lower face in the plastic surgery department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from January 2014 to January 2015. Randomly selected thirty patients from these fifty,these selected patients were given Botulinum toxin type A injecting(produced by Chinese Lanzhou Hengli, 100U/ bottle).Quantified treatment were symmetrically injected at the most prominent position of cheek masseter, depressor anguli oris muscle and mandibular margin platysma. We observe the change effect of soft tissue contour of the lower face, standardise photography, use Photoshop CS6 to intercept front image of lower face, measured the lower face raising(used iris units) and calculated angle data of lower jaw’s edge lifting before and after treatment, SPSSl2.0 software is used for data analysis.Results:There were 30 cases(60 sides) in this group, before treatment the intersection of the outer edge of the auricle,as well as facial midline sagittal vertical line three points and the mandibular margin distance from the submental line respectively are(14.67±2.21)unit,(52.66±6.06)unit, After 2 weeks treatment the distance respectively are(20.52±2.63)unit,(61.73±8.54)unit, respectively increased(5.85±0.12)unit,(9.07±0.21)unit. Mandibular intersection to Menton connection with submental line angle before treatment respectively are(16.31±1.02)degree,(28.15±1.01)degree, After 2 weeks treatment(21.45±1.01)degree,(35.21±1.01)degree, respectively increased (5.14±0.02)degree,(7.06±0.03)degree. Before treatment the distance from the crossover point( the gape horizontal line and the bridge of lower jaw) to median sagittal line is(115.38±12.71)unit, After 2 weeks treatment the distance is(105.69±12.01)unit, decreased(10.69±0.26)unit. Before treatment the distance from mouth to chin horizontal line is(79.12±8.11)unit,After 2 weeks treatment is(81.45±8.32)unit,increased(2.33±0.09)unit. The differences were all statistically significant(all p<0.05).Conclusion:The effect for the lower face lifting and contour younger effect is significant after injecting Botulinum toxin type A through observating lower face relaxation and the broader lower face contour. This treatment is a better choice for nonoperate treatment patients and should be more widely used.
