Objective:To observe the influence of Six white Chang sha grain on TGF~ β in Blood Serum which squats down to sit to lower the head a cervical vertebra disease,in order to observe the clinic effect of curing cervical spondylosis by this prescription.Methods:50 adult male rabbits were randomly divided into 5 groups:The first group was normal control group(Ⅰ), second control groups as cervical spondylosis model group(Ⅱ),the third group was the Jingfukang control group(Ⅲ),the fourth group was Six white Chang sha grain high dose group and the fifth group was Six white Chang sha grain low dose group,10 rabbits each group. Cervical spondylosis model was made through keeping sitting and head~bending position. Fur,weight and action condition of rabbits were observed in the experiment. All the rabbits were examined with roentgenogram and dual energy radiograph absorptiometry for cervical vertebrae in the 4th and 12 th week,the pathology of cervical intervertebra discs were measured in the 12 th week,TGF~ β factor level in Blood Serum were determined and observed by radioimmunoassay method(RIA) in the 12 th week.Results :Fur,weight,action condition and cervical intervertebra discs pathology of rabbits in the cervical spondylosis and Six white Chang sha grain low dose group were similar,the bone density declined in the two groups; The index mentioned above of Six white Chang sha grain high dose group and Neck~recover~granule control group were similar to those of the control group; TGF ~ β factor levels were significantly elevated in Six white Chang sha grain high dose group than in the control group cervical spondylosis model control group and Six white Chang sha grain low dose group. There were significant differences(p <0.05); TGF~ β factor levels were obviously low in cervical spondylosis model control group than in the control group, Neck~recover~granule control group and Six white Chang sha grain high dose group. There were significant differences(p <0.05). but Six white Chang sha grain low dose group compares not remarkable difference(p﹥0.05).Conclusion:Six white Chang sha grain could raise TGF~ β factor levels in Blood Serum to cure cervical disease.
