Objective To evaluate the non-surgical (manual reduction and external fixation with fir bark splint medication and exercise medicine Phase Ⅲ) clinical efficacy of osteoporotic proximal humerus fractures. Methods A retrospective analysis since July 2008 in December 2013 between the clinical diagnosis of surgical admitted to a hospital for osteoporotic fractures of the proximal humerus met the inclusion criteria and were followed up for 60 complete cases. This study included 22 male patients and 38 females, the oldest 94 and the youngest 63 years old, with an average age of 78 years. Depending on the treatment method, will be divided into two groups:A group of 30 cases of manipulative, fir bark splint fixed with traditional Chinese medicine three; group B 30 例 manipulative, plaster fixation with traditional Chinese medicine three; observed after 4 weeks of treatment, the first eight weeks, the first 24 weeks of shoulder function recovery (using Neer percentile score on the shoulder function score). And using Spss satistics 19.0 software for analysis. Results The two treatments in patients with baseline data, the statistical test, the difference was not significant (P> 0.05). Two treatment methods in the first four weeks, the anatomical score, pain score, range of motion and function scores showed no significant (P> 0.05); the first eight weeks, the anatomical score, pain score difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05), range of motion and function score differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the first 24 weeks, anatomical score, pain score and range of motion were no significant (P> 0.05), score difference was significant (P<0.05) A group of excellent and good rate was 90.0% excellent in 10 cases, good in 17 cases, in two cases, one case of poor; good rate of 86.7% in group B were excellent in 9 cases, good in 17 cases, in two cases, the difference between two cases. Conclusion Contrast effect fir bark splint and plaster fixation of proximal humerus osteoporotic fractures,no significant differences in the anatomical scores on pain scores,in die range of functions and activities Ues fir bark score better than plaster splint. For osteoporotic fractures of the proximal humerus fir bark splint overall efficacy than fixed plaster board, fir bark splint and external fixation of orthopedic biomechanics modem viewpoint advocated, can effectively prevent stress shielding, and it is simple, less invasive, fewer complications, lower costs, reduce the economic burden of patients advantages,is a reliable treatment method in clinical certain promotional value.
