Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of the transcutaneous electrical stimulation (TENS) coordinate with drug on depression and observe the differences in different frequency.Methods:90 cases of depression were randomly divided into three groups, the control group simply oral serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of drugs; observer group 1 using 100Hz TENS coordinate with SSRI for treatment, the stimulation points is Shendao and Zhiyang; observer group 2 using 2Hz TENS coordinate with the SSRI for treatment, the acupuncture points is same with the observer group 1. Changes were observed in each group before and after the treatment for 1,2,3 weeks which is evaluated with Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), summarized the clinical efficacy of three different interventions for depression, characteristics at different time points. Results:After 3 weeks of treatment, the rate of recovery and improvement in observation group 1 and the observation group 2 is 100%, which is better than the control group(30/30) 60.0%(P<0.05).The clinical cure rate of Observation group 1 is 6.7% while the Observation groups 2 is 16.7%,which is significantly better than the observation group 1 (P<0.05). 100Hz group more effective are better than the drug group at various time points, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), The treatment of 2Hz group is better than the medication group in the second week and third week, and there is no significant difference between the 100Hz group and 2Hz group. The amplitude of the treatments vary the in the treatment of one week, 100HzTENS group HAMD scores were higher than the mean difference between the drug group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05),2Hz and 100Hz are not statistically different in the group significance. In two weeks and three weeks, TENS group was no significant difference between the drug group compared with the average HAMD. In addition, the three different interventions have different influence of seven factors, in 100Hz group, the factors â…¡ have no significant improvement (p> 0.05), the remaining six factors have some improvement, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In 2Hz group, factors â…¡ and IV have no significant improvement (p> 0.05), the remaining five factor scores have improved effect (P<0.05). The seven factor scores of drug group have improved statistically significant difference (P<0.05). There are no statistically significant differences among the three groups in the seven factors (p> 0.05).Conclusion:there were no significant changes in the onset time, the three group all have treatment effects in the first week than before, but in the first week, the overall effect of TENS is better than drug treatment, from the observation time point of view, the effects of 100Hz is better than the drug group in the first week, and 2Hz therapy is more effective than the drug group in second week, in addition, TENS magnitude of the improvement in the first week of the larger simple drug group, the effects on each factor of different frequency TENS and drugs are difference but are not statistically significant.
