| The cupitulum of Sanvitalia procumbens Lam have been used as a Chinese medicine and tea in Chinese folklore. They have been found to possess antibacterial, antifungal, antiflammatory, antioxidation, and hypotensive activities. The present study was to identify compounds present in the cupitulum of Sanvitalia procumbens Lam, and compared the ingredient of caffeic acid derivatives, flavonoids, essential oil, polysaccharide, micro-elements and amino acids with Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat cv.’Hangju’and ’Gongju’.1. To determining chlorogenic acid,3,5-O-caffeoylquinic acid, galuteolin-7-O-glucoside, quercetin-3-rhamnoside, galuteolin, quercitrin, apigenin and acacetin in the flower Sanvitalia procumbens Lam., the RP-HPLC method was established, the content of chlorogenic acid,3,5-O-caffeoylquinic acid, luteolin, quercitrin, apigenin and acacetin in S. procumbens and Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat cv.’Hangju’and’Gongju’ were compared. The content of chlorogenic acid, galuteolin-7-O-glucoside, quercetin-3-rhamnoside, quercetin, galuteolin, apigenin and acacetin in S. procumbens were7.46mg·g-1,46.58mg·g-1,7.64mg·g-1,26.01mg·g-1,14.59mg·g-1,14.62mg·g-1ã€0.88mg·g-1, the highest among the samples. The resultant data provided the evidences to establish scientific basis for quality control.2. The essential oil of Sanvitalia procumbens Lam. was extracted by water-steam distillation and separated by GC capillary column chromatography. The components were quantitatively determined with normalization method, and identified by GC-MS. From the S. procumbens, Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat cv.’Hangju’ and’Gangju’144chromatographic peaks were detected and identified in total, which were composed of54.36%-77.24%of the total essential oil respectively. The main components of essential oil from S. procumbens are monoterpenoids and sesquiterpenoids, monoterpenoids composed of9.37%-38.42%of the total essential oil respectively, sesquiterpenoids composed of27.96%-38.29%%of the total essential oil respectively. The common components1R-.alpha.-Pinene,3-Cyclohexen-1-ol, 4-methyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-,Naphthalene,1,2-dihydro-1,1,6-trimethyl,.alpha.-Cubebene, Bicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-ene,2,6-dimethyl-6-(4-methyl-3-pentenyl),3-(1,5-dimethyl-4-hexenyl)-6-methylene-,[S-(R*,S*)], Caryophyllenel, Cyclohexene,1-methyl-4-(5-methyl-1-methylene-4-hexenyl)-(S) and Caryophyllene oxide(-) could be the characteristic constituents of S. procumbens. The components of essential oil from various Flowers had notable difference, with maybe caused by different type and areas. So essential oil could be an index for quality evaluation of S. procumbens.3. To determining polysaccharide, soluble saccharides, total ash and acid insoluble ash contents and extract from Sanvitalia procumbens and to establish the quality control. Saccharide contents were determinted by phenol-sulfuric acid method. Samples are determined according to the procedures recorded in the Appendix IX K and X A of Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010edition), for total ash and acid insoluble ash contents, water soluble extract. The polysaccharide contents of S. procumbens was10.73%, with the soluble saccharide contents was0.83%, the content of total ash was8.31%, acid insoluble ash contents was4.89%, the content of water soluble extract was46.76%.4. The content of micro-elements and amino acids in Sanvitalia procumbens were detected with ICP-OES. Method and amino acid analyzer(AAA). We have obtained10kinds of micro-elements contents of the samples such as:Zn, P, Co, Ni, Fe, Si, Mn, Cr, Cu, Sr. Among them, the iron, chromium and strontium contents of S. procumbens are higher. There are17kinds of amino acid and8necessary amino acid were in S. procumbens. The contents of amino acid are higher than Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat cv.’Hangju’ and ’Gongju’. |
