Objective:TO discover the bone mass and serological characteristics of the female patients with diffuse connective tissue disease(DCTD),and to analyze the relevant factors.Methods:100female DCTD patients were selected from Division of Rheumatolo-gy,First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine.48of them were diagnosed as systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),25were rheumatoid arthritis(RA),and27were primary Sjogren syndrome(pSS).The clinical and laboratory datas were collected, and lumbar spine bone mineral density(BMD) was measured by dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry.Correlation analysis were discussed between the lumbar spine BMD and age, height, weight, course of disease, the cumulative dose of steroid, blood calcium, disease activity, etc.Results:(1)The incidence of osteopenia was28.0%and the incidence of osteoporosis was25.0%of the100patients.The incidence of osteopenia was25.0%and the incidence of osteoporosis was16.7%of SLE patients. The incidence of osteopenia was32.0%and the incidence was osteoporosis is44.0%of RA patients. The incidence of osteopenia was29.6%and the incidence of osteoporosis was22.2%of pSS patients.(2) Osteoporosis group, osteopenia group, normal bone mass group of DCTD patients showed a decreasing trend of age, and there were significant differences between the groups.(3)The platelet count in osteopenia or osteoporosis group was lower than the one in the normal bone mass group of SLE patients(p<0.05).(4)The red blood cell count in the osteoporosis group was lower than the one in the normal bone mass group of RA patients(p<0.01).(5)The age in osteopenia or osteoporosis group was higher than the one in the normal bone mass group of pSS patients(p<0.01).(6)Correlation analysis:Lumbar spine BMD in SLE patients had a significant negative correlation with age and was positively correlated with body weight. Lumbar spine BMD in RA patients had a negative correlation with age and was positively correlated with height. Lumbar spine BMD in pSS patients had a significant negative correlation with age. Lumbar spine BMD was negatively correlated with the positive numbers of one minute test of osteoporosis in SLE and RA patients. Conclusion:The incidence of osteoporosis in female DCTD patients was high, and few of female DCTD patients with osteopenia or osteoporosis took calcium, vitamin D or bisphosphonates. Vitamin D deficiency was common.Old age was a risk factor of osteoporosis in DCTD patients, and low weight was a risk factor of osteoporosis in SLE patients, while low height was a risk factor of osteoporosis in RA patients. The patients with osteopenia or osteoporosis had differences in hematology with the patients with normal bone mass.L3BMD or L4BMD was higher than LI BMD or L2BMD in female DCTD patients.
