Dental zirconia all-ceramic material is now widely used in prosthetic field for itsbrilliant mechanical characteristic,anti-friction, anti-corrosion,biological safety andlight transmittance. And zirconia all-ceramic material’s transparency directly affectsprosthesis’ aesthetic effect. Meanwhile, dental material’s light transmittance and colortogether play an important role in zirconia all-ceramic prosthesis’quality evaluation.Generally speaking, zirconia all-ceramic prosthesis is provided with good lighttransmittance. Veneering porcelain will show the natural teeth’s transparency. Therefore, the good light transmittance of zirconia basement will transmit abutment teeth’s color, which will help the prosthesis to represent the natural teeth’s color. Zirconia material’slight transmission is depended on its crystal’s species and contents, and any change ofthe species and contents will lead to different Light transmission for zirconia material.Brilliant permeability of prosthesis plays an important role in representing the naturalteeth’s color. This paper analyses four frequently-used zirconia all-ceramic material andtheir Transparency after coated with Veneering porcelain. The four Zirconia All-ceramicmaterial are Zenostar ZR Translucent, upceraZirconiaST Ultra-transparent porcelainpiece, Lava Plus High Translucency Zirconia(3M,America)and Cerconht full contourzirconia(densply,America). Afterwards, different post-core materials’s different effectson All-ceramic prosthetic material’s color will also be illustrated. Then this paper getsits experimental results as follows.1.The relative translucency of the four ultra-transparent all-ceramic materials aresignificantly different. The transmittance of Zenostar ZR Transl ucent ranges from 1.642%to2.510%, and its transmittance will increase along with the enhancement oflightness. The transmittance of Lava Zirconia ranges from1.521%to2.267%. As forZenostar, the transmittance ranges from0.732%to1.312%. While upceraZirconia’stransmittance ranges from1.041%to1.973%. From control group, IPS e.max press’stransmittance ranges from5.698%to6.125%.2. The relative translucency of the four all-ceramic materials are significantlydifferent. The order of relative translucency from high to low is: Zenostar ZRTranslucent>Lava Plus High Translucency Zirconia>Cerconht full contour zirconia>upceraZirconia. Zenostar ZR Translucent and Lava Plus High Translucency Zirconia areprovided with good optical effects, which makes them the good choice for highertranslucent anterior teeth’s restoration. With certain translucency, Cerconhtfull contourzirconia is better used for relatively opaque posterior tooth. As for discolored teeth, upceraZirconia may be advisable.
