Outcomes After Tension-Free Vaginal Tape-Obturator In Treatment Of Femal Stress Urinary Incontinence

Objective:To learn the effectiveness, safety of tension-free vaginal tape-obturator(TVT-O) in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence(SUI).Methods:We collected the clinical data of7patients with SUI, who underwent TVT-O in the First Affiliated Hospital of GuangXi Medical University from August2012to November2013. We recorded the personal data, operation time, blood loss, indwelling catheter time and the complications of all the patients. Before and after operation we took some examination and asked patients to complete some validated questionnaires such as Incontinence Questionnaire Short Form (ICI-Q-SF) and Incontinence quality of life questionnaire (I-QOL). There are three parts in I-QOL, including action part, psychological part and social part.Results:(1) All operations were successfully completed without any intra-operative complications. The mean operative time was(24.3±6.7)minutes(15-30minutes), the mean volume of blood loss was(16.4±8.5) ml(10-3Oml), the mean times stayed in hospital after operation was (5.3±0.8) days(5-7days), the mean times of indwelling catheter was (6.3±3.4) days (5-14days).(2)There was1patients(14.3%) presenting dysuresia soon after catheter removal but being cured after drug treatment and physiotherapeutics. All patients’incisions healing well, no one suffer from new over active bladder (OAB)、thigh pain、vaginal erosion、local hematoma.(3)There are7(100%) women remained cured, the scores of I-QOL are higher and the scores of I-CIQ-SF are lower after operation(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1) TVT-O is an effective, safe, minimally invasive treatment for female SUI.(2) Patients’quality of life(QOL) will be improved after operation in short-term follow-up. And prospective multicenter trials are needed to understand the long-term effect of TVT-O.
