The Correlationship Research Between Patellar Tilt、Patellar Subluxation And Chondromalacia

ObjectiveBy the imaging performance of chondromalacia patella on MRI, carry outepidemiological studies of chondromalacia patella, analysize the relationship betweenpatellar subluxation, patellar tilt and chondromalacia patella, explore the clinicalsignificance of the mechanism to early diagnosis.Materials and methodsWe collect952cases who do MRI of knee joint, including308cases havingchondromalacia patella. Calculate positive rate by groups,then calculate the patellar lateralcondyle index(PLCI) and the patellar tilt angle(PTA). Then, compare their means bydividing them into groups according to sexuality and age, at last use t tests and chi-squaretest to make judgement whether the relationship between patellar subluxation, patellar tiltand chondromalacia patella has the statistical significance by the normal range in ourresearch.ResultsThe overall positive rate of chondromalacia patella is32.4%, female45.2%and maleis18.4%. The positive rate of female is higher than male(P<0.05). The normal range ofPLCI in our research is21.09, PTA20.71. Female with chondromalacia patella is higherthan male in the patellar tilt angle. the researches in the groups dividing by sexuality allshow that there was the obvious correlationship between patellar subluxation, patellar tiltand chondromalacia patella (P<0.05). The researches in the groups from30to60and over60years old show that there was the obvious correlationship between patellar subluxation,patellar tilt and chondromalacia patella (P<0.05).conclusion1. chondromalacia patella has high positive rate.In addition, female is higher thanmale. 2. Patellar tilt and patellar subluxation cause changes in the pressure between thepatellofemoral joint, The change of the stress cause a damage to patellar cartilage directlyor indirectly, Chronic injury result in chondromalacia patella.3. As the best imaging methods, MRI has a good resolving power, and get clear andaccurate images of bone, cartilage, ligaments and tendons which have diagnosticsignificance.
