To understand the condition about the providing of the medical services, the difficulties and challenges and so on. To provide the reference and basis for the future works.Method:Making the Butuo and Zhaoju county as the research site. The research method is the combination about the quantitative research and the qualitative research.The quantitative research:Using the data of Adult basic information database and the Adults followed database from the Information system for the prevention and control of AIDS during the January1,2012to April30,2013. The AIDS patients were investigated by questionnaire from face to face. Descriptive analysis was used to statistic the reasons about insisting and quitting ART. Logistic regression to analyze the impact factors about the insisting and quitting ART.The qualitative research:Using the in-depth individual interview to investigate. The medical workers who are in charge of the ART works in the hospitals which in Butuo and Zhaojue county, and the working years at least be equal or greater than6months are the objective respondents. To understand the reasons about the HIV/AIDS patients insisted or quitted the ART; the condition of the medical services providing; the difficulties and challenges in the ART works and the suggestions. Dispose the results of the in-depth individual interview by using descriptive analysis. Results:The study collected488questionnaires totally; including303were insisting group patients and185were quitting group patients. The number of medical workers is18.1.The reasons of insisting ART:Thinking the ART can prolong the life:209(68.98%); thinking it can reduce the uncomfortable and improve the life qualities:67(22.11%); the persistent medical consults and care18(5.94%).2.The reasons of quitting ART:Inconvenience when go out for work56(30.27%); forcing to drug treatment32(17.30%); ART drug side effects22(11.89%); busy with farm works or something21(11.35%).3.The impact factors about the insisting ART:go out for work after accepted ART(OR=3.783,95%CI:2.353~6.081); the time of ART more than1year(OR=2.338,95%CI:1.222~4.473); male(OR=1.790,95%CI:1.104~2.901); have taken traditional medicine for instead(OR=1.896,95%CI:1.130~3.180) are risk factors for persist ART. Supported by family members(OR=0.279,95%CI:0.103~0.754); accepted the education about ART by self-reported(OR=0.095,95%CI:0.040~0.228); the scores of ART knowledge be equal or greater than5(OR=0.207,95%CI:0.102~0.423) are protect factors for persisting ART.4. The influence factors of persisting ART reported by the medical workers:go out for work; drug addiction serve sentence and detain; drug side effects; thinking their body rehabilitation after ART; too far to get drugs; ideological understanding isn’t enough; afraid of haemospasia to examine CD4; influenced by the people around; afraid of discrimination; drug users and drinking crowd are refuse to ART; lose hope of treatment; the influence of policy.ConclusionThe main impact factors which influence the adult AIDS patients are divided into the following aspects:1) sociodemographic characteristics:male and drug users have difficulties in ART retention;2) the cognition of the ART:accepted the education of ART; be equal or greater than5points of ART knowledge, be able to perceived the benefits of ART can promote treatment;3) drug side effects:is the important factors which result in quitting ART;4) social environment:obtained the family support when have ART; inconvenient to get drugs when go out for works; having drug treatment in addiction treatment centre or being executed or was detained in the jail; busy with farm works; too far to the hospital; the policy’s influence made the HIV/AIDS patients tend to quit ART;5) other factors:the time of treatment is greater than1year and take traditional Chinese medical which made HIV/AIDS patients tend to quitting ART. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | AIDS, ART, retention, attrition | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
