| Objective The purpose of this study was to provide theoretical evidence for clinical nurses to improve quality of life, health and working efficiency after adjusting constitution in traditional Chinese medicine themselves or transformations of nursing managers’ approach, by investigating the situation of quality of life and constitution in traditional Chinese medicine of clinical nurse of 3-grade A-class hospitals in Hengyang city and exploring the correlation between them. Methods 720 nurses sampled randomly from 7 hospitals in Hengyang city were investigated using the constitution in traditional Chinese medicine questionnaire issued by China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and SF-36 questionnaire Chinese version issued by Sun Yat-sen University. The data were inputted and double-checked by software Epidata 3.1.SPSS 18.0 software was used for data processing and analysis with methods of descriptive statistics, univariate analysis and Logistic regression. Results 1. In distribution of traditional Chinese medicine constitution, ratio of Yang-deficiency type, 43.5%, was the biggest. Qi-deficiency type with ratio of 37.4% was the second, and the third was Qi-depression type with ratio of 33.9%. But in contrast that of Gentleness type was only 23%. In pathological constitutions, multiform constitutions accounted for 69%, and the biggest type number of which was eight, with ratio of 5.3%. The univariate analysis results showed that there were significant differences in incidence of pathological constitutions between different titles, ages, degrees and weary feeling(P<0.01). The factors of age, degree and weariness were good for the incidence of pathological constitution by Logistic regression analysis. 2. The score of each facet in quality of life of clinical nurses was lower than common people in Chinese mainland. Of common factors, degree and weary feeling were risk for quality of life of nurses by Logistic regression analysis(OR>1). 3. The score of each facet of 8 pathological constitutions was lower than Gentleness type(P<0.001). By Logistic regression analysis, it showed that 8 pathological constitutions were risk factors of impaired quality of life of nurses(OR>1). The first risk factor was Qi-depression type(OR=183.872). The second risk factor was Qi-deficiency type(OR=122.341), and the third was Yang-deficiency type(OR=86.152).Conclusions 1. In distribution of traditional Chinese medicine constitution of clinical nurse of 3-grade A-class hospitals in Hengyang city, multiform pathological constitutions are common, but Gentleness type only accounts for 23.0%, which is lower than common people. Age, degree and weary feeling are risk factors of the incidence of pathological constitutions. 2. Quality of life of clinical nurse of 3-grade A-class hospitals in Hengyang city is lower than common people. Degree and weary feeling are risk common factors of impaired quality of life of nurses. 3. Yang-deficiency type, Yin-deficiency type, Qi-deficiency type, Phlegm-wetness type, Wet-heat type, Blood-stasis type, Special diathesis type and Qi-depression type are all risk factors of impaired quality of life of nurses. |
