Objective: To explore the role of nano-hydroxyapatite/colla gen material in treatment of infective bone defect through comparis on on curative effects of nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen material, allog raft bone and autologous bone, in order to find an ideal substitute for autologous bone in treatment of infective bone defect.Method: A case follow-up and observation study was carr ied out on a total of 56 patients who were undergone traumatic op eration for bone defect between March 2013 and March 2014 in tra umatic orthopedic department of Hunan People’s Hospital. The patie nts were divided in allograft group and nHAC group according to t he implant materials. Postoperative bone healing degrees(postoperati ve 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months) and calcium and phosphate levels(postoperative 2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 m onths and 12 months) of the two groups of patients were collected and compared. Spss16.0 was used for statistical analysis.Results: There were no significant differences between the two groups of patients in good rate of bone healing on the postop erative 3rd month and between postoperative 9 and 12 months(P>0.05). There were significant differences between the two groups of p atients in good rate of bone healing in the postoperative 6-month X-ray(P<0.05). Good rate of bone healing was significantly higher i n nHAC group than allograft group. There were no significant diffe rences between the two groups of patients in bone graft failure rate(P>0.05). There were no significant differences between the two gr oups of patients in serum calcium and phosphate at 2 weeks, 3, 6,9 and 12 months after operation(P>0.05).Conclusion: 1. nHAC material has similar effects as allo geneic bone in operation for bone defects; 2. nHAC material is non-toxic, with no side effects.
