ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical significance of serum glycated albumin measurement by enzymatic method a parameter in reflection of recent glycolic control in patients with diabetes mellitus.MethodThe enzymatic measurement of glycated albumin was made a preliminary decision by EP10-A3.Three hundred and thirty-six patients with diabetes mellitus from January to July 2011 were enrolled into the study. The glycated albumin (GA) and HbA1c were measurement. The correlation and ratio between GA and HbA1c were analyzed.ResultThe mean imprecision of this experiment CV% is 1.62%, the mean bias is 7.58%.The intercept slope^ nonlinearity, carry-over, drift of the method is available. The correlation analysis indicated that GA was well correlated with HbA1c(r=0.918, P<0.01). The mean ratio between GA and HbA1c was 2.67 indicated that GA was positively stronger than HbA1c to monitor glucose control.ConclusionThe routine measurement of serum glycated albumin by enzymatic method is available. The reference range of GA is 11-17%. The correlation analysis indicated that GA was well correlated with HbA1c, and were valuable to monitor glucose control and efficacy evaluation.
