Ticagrelor Versus Clopidogrel In Patients With Acute Coronary Syndromes And Diabetes Mellitus

AbjectiveTo observe the platelet function of ticagrelor versus clopidogrel in patients with acute coronary syndromes and diabetes mellitus.MethodsBetween January 2013 to October 2014, 120 patients treated in The First Affiliated Hospital Of Anhui Medical University, diagnosed to have ACS were included in the study.All ACS patients were devided into non-diabetes group(40 cases) and diabetes group(80 cases).Blood coagulation function was determined for all patients. In the diabetes group eighty patients were randomly divided into ticagrelor group(48 cases) and clopidogrel group(32 cases).After 5 days’ treatment, platelet function was detected. Our study aimed to examine the effects of ticagrelor and clopidogrel on the platelet function.Results1.In diabetes group and non-diabetes group the reaction time(R) was(5.50 + 0.50) min and(6.00 + 0.40) min, respectively(P < 0.05). 2.In diabetes group and non-diabetes group the blood clot formation rate(alpha) was(75.20 + 0.80) deg and(73.40+ 0.60) deg, respectively(P < 0.05). 3.In ticagrelor group and clopidogrel group the platelet function was reduced; In ticagrelor group and clopidogrel group ADP inhibition rate was(81.20 + 4.80) % and(71.20 + 6.80) %, respectively(P < 0.05). 4.In ticagrelor group and clopidogrel group the platelet strength induced by ADP-fibrin clot(MA) was(33.60 + 1.80) mm and(36.60+ 1.40) mm, respectively(P < 0.05).Conclusion1.There exsits coagulation dysfunction and enhanced coagulation activity in diabetic patients. 2.In patients with acute coronary syndromes and diabetes mellitus ticagrelor inhibits the platelet function more strongly and does not increase the risk of bleeding compared to clopidogrel. 3.Compared to blood sugar is not normal, clopidogrel inhibits the platelet function more strongly.
