An Epidemiologic Survey Of Irritable Bowel Syndrome In Zhuang Nationality Population In Longan Tutal Area Of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

Objective:Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) is becoming more common in life,but the definite etiology and pathogenesis is still unkown.It is different for the prevalence of IBS,between the distribution of regions and populations,and it’s factors as well.The epidemiological data of IBS is not much enough in today’s domestic,especially for the remote underdeveloped areas of minority ethnic groups.carrying out the epidemiological investigations of different natural populations is needed,to investigate the epidemiological of IBS, characterize the relative risk factors from different populations and to improve the precaution and treatment of IBS in corresponding areas.Methods:Clustering the random sampling in the Zhuang nationality popu-lation in Longan rural area, the people more than 18 years old are included as the investigation objects, taking the way of face-to-face to do the interview, wh-ich is designed according to Rome Ⅲ criteria,to get the the prevalence of IBS and the related factors of IBS.Results:1. We issued 2200 questionnaires and 1955 questionnaires were taken back,1905 questionnaires were available with a response rate of 86.73%. The general prevalence of irritable bowel syndrome among the Zhuang national-ity population in Longan rural areas was 2.14%.2. The factors which included age,marriage,whether in menopause,cold-uncooked food, the spicy food and the feeling of tired、get coldmay make some influence on the IBS(P<0.05).Among the preva-lence of middle-aged was relatively high, menstruating women and the people who losed lover got the heigher prevalence.3.The most common accompanying symptoms for IBS people were the feeling of tired (39.13%),nausea and the pain of backache would be the next (34.78%,32.61%).4. The most common factors for the associated factors, which will cause the IBS digestive tract symptoms in this investigation,were cold-uncooked food and the spicy food, and the inciden-ce rate of them was 69.57% and 36.96% respectively.Conclusion:The incidence rate of IBS, in the Zhuang nationality populati-on in Longan rural area, is 2.41%.The factors for age,marriage,whether in men-opause,cold-uncooked food, spicy food and the feeling of tired, get old may make some influences on the incidence rate of IBS,and the cold-uncooked food is the most common precipitating factor for IBS too.The feeling of tired,nausea and the pain of backache are the most common accompanying symptoms.The factors,including the gender, degree of education,job,Smoking,alcohol,dring-king tea,as well as other dietary habit,do not work on the incidence rate of IBS.
