ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical significance of vascularendothelialfunction and the carotid intima-media thickness( IMT) in hypertensive patients with ventricular septal hypertrophy.Methods 85 hypertensive patients, the carotid intima-media thickness and the brachial artery vascular endothelial function and the ventricular septal were detected by ultrasono graphy. The hypertensive patients were divided into normal septal group and hypertrophy septal group according to the ventricular septal thickness, meanwhile, nitric oxide(NO), endothelin(ET-1), fasting blood-glucose(FBG), total cholesterol(TC), triacylglycerol( TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-c), creatinine(CRE),Blood urea nitrogen(BUN)were measured.30 healthy subjects were selected as normal control group.Results 1.Hypertensive groups(including normal septal group and septal hypertrophy group) systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were significantly higher than normal control group(P <0.01), among the three groups,in age, fasting blood glucose,total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, etc., the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05). 2.Hypertensive groups FMD significantly decreased(<10%), lower than the control group,septal hypertrophy group was significantly lower than normal septal group, thedifference was statistically significant(P <0.01); brachial the inner diameter of the artery basis among the three groups showed no significant difference(P> 0.05). 3.Hypertensive groups IMT was significantly higher than the control group(P <0.01), which septal hypertrophy IMT value was significantly higher than normal septal group(P <0.05). Meanwhile, the detection rate of plaque septal hypertrophy group which compared with the normal septal group was increased. 4.Septal hypertrophy group ET 1-concentrations were significantly higher than normal control group and normal septal group, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.01). The NO concentration of septal hypertrophy group was significantly lower than normal septal hypertension group and normal control group, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.01). 5.Pearson correlation analysis indicated that ventricular septal thickness was positively correlated with IMT(r=0.533) and ET-1(r=0.673),negatively correlated with FMD(-0.628) and NO(r=-0.629);What’s more, a negative correlation was showed between IMT and FMD(r=-0.706).Conclusion 1.Hypertensive patients have endothelial dysfunction. 2.Endothelial function and carotid artery damage exist in the ventricular septal normal patients, and even more serious in ventricular septal hypertrophy patients. 3.Vascular endothelial function and carotid artery,essential hypertension patients with ventricular septal hypertrophy,damaged serverly.Clinical we can prevent and treat hypertension target organ damage early, according to the results of detection of vascularendothelialfunction and carotid artery IMT of the brachial artery.
