Objective: Detect the serum level of Ghrelin and Homocysteine(Hcy) of the primary hypertension patients among the physical examination population in Dingzhou City people’s Hospital and compare the differences between the control group and primary hypertension group. Then investigate the correlation among the level of Ghrelin, Hcy and primary hypertension. To provide a new cut point for the research of pathogenic causes and treatment about primary hypertension.Method: Ninty patients, aged 40 to 55 years, who were diagnosed as primary hypertension in People’s Hospital of Dingzhou from September 2013 to December 2014 were selected. They were diagnosed according to the diagnosis standard of China Hypertension Guidelines in 2010. According to their hypertension grades, all the patients were grouped into three subgroups which named grade 1 group, grade 2 group and grade 3 group and there were 30 patients in every subgroup. Fifty cases of healthy volunteers of the same age were selected as the control group. Height, weight, weight index, blood glucose, blood lipid, liver and renal function, homocysteine, Ghrelin, electrocardiogram of all selected objects were examined. Patients who were suffered with diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, hyperuricemia, hepatic and renal dysfunction, tumor and other cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases were excluded. Smoking, drinking and high fat diet were forbidden for twenty-four hours and water were fasted for twelve hours before blood sampling. The correlations of Ghrlin, Hcy and primary hypertension were analyzed.Results:1 The level of Homocysteine in hypertension group was higher than the control group evidently.(P<0.05).2 The level of ghrlin in hypertension group was lower than the control group evidently.(P<0.05).3 Among three subgroups of hypertension group, as for ghrlin level, first-grade hypertension group>second-grade hypertension>third-grade hypertension(P<0.001);4 Among three subgroups of hypertension group, as for Hcy level,third-grade hypertension group>second-grade hypertension>first-grade hypertension;5 Multi-factor unconditioned logistic regression analysis showed that ghrelin and are correlated with primary hypertension independently.Conclusions:1 The serum homocysteine levels are relsted with the blood pressure levels of primary hypertension patients, and the homocysteine levels have an upward tendency along with the raising of the hypertension grade.2 The serum ghrelin levels are relsted with the blood pressure levels of primary hypertension patients, and the ghrelin levels have an downward tendency along with the raising of the hypertension grade.3 It is possible that the decreasing of ghrelin and the increasing of homocysteine are the indepent risk factors of hypertension.
