Objective: This paper aims to discuss the intervention effect of the comprehensive weight management mode on the obesity of mental patients caused by antipsychotics, and explore an effective intervention measure for controlling and improving obese mental patients in hospital who take antipsychotics. Methods: In December 2013, 120 antipsychotic induced obesity in hospitalized patients with mental disease were selected as study objects according to the inclusion criteria. Study objects were randomly divided into a study group and a control group with 60 patients respectively. Patients in the study group received the intervention of comprehensive weight management mode on a regular basis while receiving routine treatment and care; while patients in the control group only received routine treatment and care. Specific measures of the comprehensive weight management intervention mode include: ① Health education: the patients were given a lecture on the knowledge relating to obesity caused by drug. ②Development of good life style: the patients were guided to develop a good life style and change bad rest and eating behaviors during the routine care. Diet control: the patients were ③allowed to intake the calorie of 80 to 100KJ/kg each day with strict limits on carbohydrate and fatty foods. ④Recognition of corrective therapy: the patients in the group were made to recognize the intervention and correct their different opinions on the relationship between weight gain and health as well as mental disease. Exercise intervention: the patients were guided to choose ⑤aerobic exercise with moderate or low strength. ⑥Specific rehabilitation activity and knowledge contest: one fun games or obesity and relevant knowledge contest was carried out. When the patients are grouped, evaluating the patients in two groups in the aspects of the weight, body mass index(BMI), body fat percentage(BFP), triglyceride(TG), cholesterol(TC) and general well-being(GWB) schedule and other indexes; in addition, after 2 months, 6 months and 12 months, re-evaluating the patients in the aspects of the weight, body mass index(BMI), body fat percentage(BFP), cholesterol(TC) and general well-being(GWB) schedule and other indexes, and performing control research. All data should be processed by SPSS16.0 software package, with the T inspection for measurement data, X2 inspection for enumeration data and Analysis of variance of repeated measurement data for repeated measurement data. The statistical significance level(a) is at 0.05.Results: 1 General conditions of patients in both groupsA total of 120 antipsychotic induced obesity in hospitalized patients with mental disease were equally divided into a study group and a control group at random for this study. Two patients in the study group and three patients in the control group dropped out during the one-year control study. At the time of grouping and after falling off, all the differences in gender, age, education background, course of disease and type of mental disease of patients in both groups did not have significant effect(P>0.05), so they could be compared. All shedding patients were not included of statistical analysis. 2 Effect of comprehensive weight management on the indexes of two groups of patients 2.1 At the time of grouping, the comparative differences in scores of height(1.701±0.082 VS 1.672±0.081), weight(88.05±9.31 VS 85.26±9.17), body mass index(BMI)(30.34±1.89 VS 30.39±2.53), body fat percentage(BFP)(35.03±4.91 VS 36.04±5.19), cholesterol(TC)(1.46±0.47 VS 1.49±0.46), triglyceride(TG)(5.34±1.18 VS 5.36±1.13), CGI(3.07±1.40 VS 2.90±1.41), PSP(77.71±5.41 VS 76.80±6.23) and general well-being(GWB)(91.19±7.75 VS 90.77±9.64) of patients in both groups have not significant effect(P>0.05), so they could be compared. 2.2 Three months later, the comparative differences in scores of weight, BMI, BFP, TC, TG and GWB of patients in both groups have not significant effect(P>0.05). 2.3 Six months later, scores of weight, BMI, BFP(81.67±8.35, 28.15±1.80 and 32.31±4.44) of patients in the study group were lower than those(85.02±8.85, 30.32±2.55 and 35.67±5.37) of patients in the control group, all the differences have significant effect(P < 0.05), while the comparative differences in scores of TC, TG and GWB of patients in both groups have not significant effect(P>0.05). 2.4 Nine months later, scores of weight, BMI, BFP, TC and TG(78.10±8.44, 26.90±1.78, 31.16±4.36, 1.26±0.36 and 4.73±1.10)of patients in the study group were lower than those(83.54±8.73, 29.80±2.58, 34.75±4.85, 1.42±0.42 and 5.25±1.13) of patients in the control group, all the differences have significant effect(P<0.05), while the comparative differences in score of GWB(94.34±7.24 VS 91.91±8.90) of patients in both groups have not significant effect(P>0.05). 2.5 Twelve months later, the weight, BMI, BFP, TC and TG(75.52±7.92, 26.13±1.77, 29.28±4.21, 1.14±0.34 and 4.39±1.09) of patients in the study group were lower than those(83.91±8.07, 29.94±2.44, 34.82±5.49, 1.45±0.47 and 5.18±1.14) of patients in the control group, while GWB(95.48±7.19) of patients in the study group was higher than that(92.14±9.42) of patients in the control group, all the differences have significant effect(P<0.05).2.6 The measurement indicators(weight, BMI, BFP, TC and TG) of the presence of trends over time, and time factor as the study group and the control group is different. Conclusion: The comprehensive weight management intervention mode can effectively and improve obesity caused by antipsychotics, reduce the body fat percentage of obese patients caused by antipsychotics, well control such biochemical indicators as blood lipid and improve general well-being of obese patients caused by antipsychotics.
