Retrospective Analysis Of The Clinical Of Macular Hole Retinal Detachment In High Myopic Eyes

ObjectiveTo retrospectively analyze the clinic of macular hole retinal detachment.MethodsA retrospective study of244consecutive HMMDRD patients who underwentpars plana vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling in ShanghaiFirst People’s Hospital between August2011and August2012. Observingtheir clinical features while comparing with2782ARC patients who wereobserved the same time and analyzing their surgical outcomes. All patientswere followed up for12months to evaluate and observe outcome includingage、gender, laterality, general condition、degrees of refraction、lens status、posterior vitreous detachment, surgical approach、choroidal detachment、disease time、inferior quadrants involved、 best corrected visual acuitypreoperative and postoperative、successful or fail.Application SPSS19.0package for statistical analysis，using chi-square test.Results1）There are61eyes of male patients and183eyes of female patients agedfrom26to83years old(60.89±7.98years old average)，including130righteyes and114left eyes.Diopter:-6.00D～-26.00D （-11.25±4.08Daverage）.Macular hole retinal detachment in high myopic eyes is a retinal disease primarily affecting elderly women(60.89±7.98years old average).2）99cases were treated with C3F8tamponade and145cases with siliconeoil tamponade. Overall, vitrectomy led to an attached retina after a singleoperation in88.94%of cases. Eyes treated with gas had an87.88%successrate and89.66%with silicone oil.3）Lens status and degree in the macular hole retinal detachment in highmyopia were revealed as significant confounding factor.s After correctionfor this confounder using a multivariate logistic regression model, lens statusand degree became a statistically significant determinant for success rate(P<0.01).Conclusions1）Macular hole retinal detachment in high myopic eyes is a retinal diseaseprimarily affecting postmenopausal women.2）Vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peel off can significantlyimprove the healing rate，visual acuity improvement rate.3）Lens status and degree may be factors that impact the postoperativesuccess in HMMHRD.
