| Alzheimer’s diseaase is a high incident of age-related diseases. As the globalaging of the population is becoming increasingly serious, AD is increasinglybecoming a serious social problem. Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI) is considered asa transition phase between normal aging and AD. Therefore the study of MCI is ofgreat significance to AD. The traditional method to diagnose MCI is based on thememory and cognitive abilities scale testing which is used by medical personnel andcan not be widely promoted in the community to help the people. At present in China,because of the imperfection of elderly health care system and lack of understanding ofAlzheimer’s disease, a lot of dementia don’t go to the doctor. The attendance rate ofmild dementia is less than20%, and a large number of MCI, mild AD patientsdevelop into a moderate to severe dementia because of the delay of disease whichbring a heavy burden to family and society.This paper designed and implemented a cognitive function assessment andtraining system based on interactive operation for the elderly. The system combinedclinical MCI assessment scale and an interactive method of non-drug treatmentexpected to increase mental exercise of elderly to help to delay cognitive decline andassess the cognitive ability of elderly. The system will give a warning signal to theelderly which has congnitive impairment to remind them to go to medical institutionsfor further diagnosis.The interactive operation of system is provided by interactive operation devicewhich is an very important part of the system. Elderly can complete the assessmentand training content by operating the device. These interactive operations includespressing, shaking, neighbor and so on. The system is designed base on interactiveoperations which increase fun and entertainment of the system.At the beginning, the system is based on an existing gaming platform, someproblems are found after an experiment. Thus we redesigned the interactive device.This article described the production process of the interactive device includinghardware design and system software development. |
