ObjectiveTo observe toxicity of Zirconium on liver and kidney in mice.MethodsA total of50male Kunming mice according to the median lethal dose ofzirconyl chloride were randomly divided into5groups,each group contained10mice:the control group (physiological saline),0.855mg/kg (1/200LD50),1.710mg/kg(1/100LD50),3.420mg/kg(1/50LD50),17.100mg/kg(1/10LD50). All mice were exposured with intraperitoneal injection, the exposure lastfor30consecutive days. After the exposure was finished, the content ofAST,ALT,LDH,Scr,BUN,SOD,GSH-Px,MDA were test and examing thepathological changes of liver and kidney in mice under the light microscope.Results1. After exposure, compared with control group, the weight of body, liver andkidney were no difference.2. After exposure,only17.100mg/kg group serum ALT and Scr arestatistically significant compared with the control group.3. The liver cells of17.100mg/kg were not clear, the size is different, andnumerous granulocytic immersion, and in the same dose of the zirconly chlorideexposure group, the kidney tubule lumens stenosis, most epithelial cells weredamaged and sheded, and there are numerous granulocytic infiltrated.4. After exposure, compared with the control group, the content of GSH-Pxin liver of every zirconly chloride exposure groups and the GSH-Px in kindy ofthe1.710,3.420,17.100mg/kg exposure groups decreased.Meanwhlie, thecontent0f SOD in liver of17.100mg/kg zirconly chloride exposure group and the SOD in kidney of1.710,3.420,17.100mg/kg groups decreased. However, thecontent0f MDA in liver of1.710,3.420,17.100mg/kg zirconly chloride exposuregroups and the MDA in kidney of17.100mg/kg group increased.Conclusions1.17.100mg/kg dose of zirconly chloride will lead to ALT and Scrincrease, suggesting than Zr can cause the function of liver and kidney change.2.17.100mg/kg dose of zirconly chloride will cause the damage of liver andkidney tissue structure, suggesting that Zr can cause changes in liver andkidney cells structure.3.Zirconly chloride can decline liver and kidney tissue MDA content, andincrease SOD,GSH-Px activity, suggesting that Zr can caused oxidativedanmage of liver and kidney.
