Object To explore the effect of simple standardized patients inpediatric fundamental nursing teaching.Method Train10SSP,122undergraduate nursing students ofChongqing Medical University were selected as teaching objects,according to test results from high to low operation paired grouping,odd-numbered as a group of traditional teaching, even-numbered as SSPteaching group, each group of61people. On two groups of nursingstudents were using traditional teaching methods and SSP conduct pediatricteaching basic nursing education. After teaching, through internshipsoperation assessment and questionnaire survey to the students, and toteacher evaluation conducted semi-structured interviews with three ways tojudge the teaching effect.Results The SSP teaching groups, the average score wassignificantly higher than that of the traditional teaching group(P <0.01),bythe four basic operations of nursing which including face washing, bodytemperature measurement, measuring respiration, pulse measurements. The SSP teaching group four basic nursing operation after a training beforethe training, increased scores were also significantly higher than those intraditional teaching group (P<0.01). The survey shows that SSP groupteaching nursing students considered there were six obvious advantageswhich including: teaching attractive, teaching enlightening, analyzed andsummarized to improve capacity, and promote communication skills,develop clinical thinking skills, deepen knowledge and understanding ofmemory. Evaluation of teachers also believes SSP teaching group practicenursing students than the traditional teaching group more standardized,more skilled, more effective communication.Conclusion The traditional teaching method and SSP teachingmethod is effective to improve the nursing students in pediatric nursingskills practice. In pediatric nursing teaching, the SSP teaching method issuperior to the traditional teaching method, the effect is more obvious,which is worth to be extended.
