| Objective: To compare the clinical effect of herpes zoster (HZ)treated by routine dose and high-dose of valacyclovir classical antiviraldrugs.Materials and Methods: The research source comes from the patientswith herpes zoster admitted to our department from June2011to February2012. With the principle of voluntary, Patients whose onset time is lessthan five days treated by high-dose of antiviral therapy were Arranged instudy group and those with whose onset time is less than five days treatedby normal-dose of antiviral therapy in control group A,and whose onsettime is greater than or equal to five days treated by high-dose of antiviraltherapy in control group B. Compare and analyze the clinical effect and therate of post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN) of the patients in this three group atthe end of treatment. Results: After observation and comparison, we find the study groupwas significantly shorter than the control group(A and B) during thetreatment of herpes zoster in the pain relieving time, cessation time of newlesion, the beginning time of skin lesions crusting, the50%lesions crustingtime and disappearance time of skin lesions, etc, which results in significantdifference with statistical significance (P <0.05),But the incidence rate of PHN after treatment within the first six months after treatment, theobservation group and the control group the results have no significantdifference. We didn’t compare the two control groups in the mentionedfactors because of there is no comparability between them. Conclusion: In the treatment of herpes zoster, high-dose of antiviraltherapy in early stage should be advocated in the clinical as it has significanttreatment effect. But how to make the PHN occur less and lighter needfurther clinical study. |
