| Objective To systematically review the efficacy of repetitivetranscranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS) for the treatment of depressionin Parkinson’s Disease. Methods The Cochrane Library, Medline, EMbase, Web ofScience, CNKI,VIP and Wangfang were searched through computerfrom starting to April2013. The review included RCTs comparing thetreatment efficacy of rTMS with other therapy in the patients sufferingdepressive disorder in Parkinson’s Disease. The quality of the selectedRCTs was strictly examined and the data were extracted by tworesearchers independently. The data were analyzed by Rev Man5.1.Results Among8RCTs involving350patients. TheMeta-analysis result of4RCTs showed that rTMS was as good asSSRIs for treating of PD depression [WMD=-1.23,95%CI(-2.74,0.28)]. The Meta-analysis result of2RCTs showed that rTMS could improve the motor function compared with SSRIs [WMD=-7.81,95%CI(-11.34,-4.28)]. The Meta-analysis result of2RCTs showed thataugmenting rTMS was better to conventional therapy in improvingmood disorder[WMD=-4.59,5%CI (-5.63,-3.54)].Conclusion The rTMS was as effecticve as SSRIs in treatmentof depression in Parkinson’s Disease, additionally,rTMS couldimprove the motor function. Augmenting rTMS was superior toconventional therapy for the treatment of depression in Parkinson’sDisease. Nevertheless, further multicenter and high quality studies areneeded to comfirm this. |
