Background Uterine fibroids is one of the common disease in reproductivewomen, with the incidence of52%in gynecological benign tumor.Although the pathogenesis is not completely understood, we do know thatfibroids are hormone dependent. Multiple fibroids were often found inintramural. The clinical performance is related to type, number, size offibroids. The common symptoms are menorrhea, urinary frequency, anemia, feeling "full" in the lower abdomen and so on. However, thepatients are generally asymptomatic, often found by physical examination. At present, The treatment for uterine fibroids include drugs、surgery andother treatment. If you have no symptoms, you may not even needtreatment, take physical examination regularly. Many women with fibroidscan get pregnant naturally. In recent years, ultrasound ablation asnon-invasive for uterine fibroids has achieved satisfying clinicaleffectiveness. In this study, research the treatment situation and safety forultrasound ablation of multiple uterine fibroids. Analyze Uterine fibroids related factors can affect the ablation and non-perfused volume ratio. Objective Investigate the effects on the ultrasound ablation for multipleuterine fibroids.Methods32patients of multiple uterine fibroids underwent high intensityfocused ultrasound ablation in one session and recorded any discomfortduring the treatment. All the patients were performed pelvic dynamic MRIafter USgHIFU ablation, then recorded the number of uterine fibroidswhich not be cured. Analysis the reason that the uterine fibroids could notbe cured and the factors including size, location, signal in T2WI and typewhich affect the treatment. Analyze the relation between non-perfusedvolume ratio of fibroids and size, location, signal in T2WI and type. Results (1)32patients of multiple uterine fibroids completed the USgHIFUablation treatment. All patients complained discomfort that didn’t need tobe dealt.(2)The pelvic MRI showed the diameters more than10cm had132uterine fibroids in all, but92of them were no enhancement or littleenhancement. Whether uterine fibroids can be cured in different type, signal in T2-weighted and location compared, there was no significantdifference(P>0.05),but statistically significant difference was found insize.(3)Non-perfused volume ratio of ablated fibroids range from28.6%to100%,The average non-perfused volume ratio was (88.27± 14.68)%.The non-perfused volume of uterine fibroids in different size, type and location compared, there was no significant difference(P>0.05),but statistically significant difference was found in signal ofT2-weighted and the hypointense achieved the best non-perfused volumeratio. Conclusion The USgHIFU ablation treatment for multiple uterine fibroidsis safe and effective, the main factor that affect whether multiple uterinefibroids can be cured was the size of uterine fibroids. The non-perfusedvolume ratio of uterine fibroids is related to different signal in T2WI.
