Background and ObjectiveOsteoporosis (Osteoporosis, OP) is a kind of systemic bone disease, with features of the decline in the bone mass and destruction of bone micro-structure, which main performance is for the increase bone brittleness and decreased elasticity. The disease is more common in the elderly. Slight trauma can lead to the compressibility of vertebral fracture (OVCFs), or spontaneous compressibility fractures. It is often accompanied by local pain.when the disease is serious, campaign is limited, spinal cord is oppression, which influenced the patients’ quality of life and movement function and brought heavy burden to the family and social. As the crowd life expectancy and the extension of the world’s population aging trend, the incidence of OVCFs is increasing year by year, OVCFs is becoming one of factors can not be ignored which affected older people life quality. And the treatment of OVCFs is becoming a big medical and social problem. Because the traditional surgery trauma is serious,it is difficult to carry out on old patients and who has more activities. So pereutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) has become the hot research spot in recent years with its simple operation, small trauma, quick returns and low rate complications PKP opens up new way to therapy of compressibility of vertebral fracture lead by elder osteoporosis. This topic main research on68cases of compressibility of vertebral fracture lead by elder osteoporosis, so as to explor the availability and effect of pereutaneous kphoplasty to guide clinical application.Material and methods 68cases with82vertebral body who through percutaneous kyphoplasty are all chosen in the orthopedic department of the first affiliated hospital of zhengzhou university from May2008to May2011:28cases male,40cases female, the range of age is from66to82years old. The average age is69.55years old; The choice of vertebral body between T8-L5:the number of vertebral body are:T8:3cases; T9:5cases. T10:6cases; T11:6cases; T12:11cases; L1:23cases; L2:8cases; L3:9cases; L4:11cases; L5:6cases. The68cases are all osteoporotic vertebral compressive fracture, unbroken posterior wall of centrum. There are no signs and symptoms of spinal cord and nerve root damaged. These symptoms can be lasting3months to one year, average time is6.8months, and conservative treatment is ineffective. All the68cases have accepted system’s physical examination X-ray、 the three-dimensionalreconstruction of CT data and MRI imaging tests preoperation. The vertebral body who caused chest lumbar back pain were identified as "responsibility vertebral". In the preoperative and postoperative side measured on a X-ray "responsibility vertebral" vertebral before body height, the margin of vertebral body central height and vertebral body height and edge of the protruding after Cobb Angle;, Pain was assessed by The visual analogue scale method (VAS), quantitative data was signed as mean±standard deviation.Statistical data is processed with SPSS16.0statistical analysis software, quantitative data was signed as mean±standard deviation, the mean differences between two groups compared with paired T-test The difference was identified significant statistically by P<0.05Results1. The postoperative patients’ pain scores from an average of8.35±0.37points (7to10points) fell to an average of2.45±0.45points (2to4points), the symptom of pain has been relieved obviously, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);2. The postoperative patients’"responsibility vertebral" vertebral before body height, the margin of vertebral body central height and vertebral edge were significantly increased, compressed vertebral or return to normal, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05);3. The postoperative patients’ cobb Angle of the protruding from an average of26.80±5.00fell to an average of6.50±2.20, the protrusion deformity got certain relief, the ifference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionPercutaneous kyphoplasty can relieve patients pain、recover the height of vertebral body and physiological bending degree, increase the mechanical strength and vertebral body spinal stability and normal activities functions, has simple operation, small trauma, get rapid returns and little complications.
