Objective: This study took ancient literature data about the disease of Yege andmodern literature about the disease of esophageal cancer for the research object. Thisstudy started form extracting this two illnesses syndrome element, then determinedtheir location and syndrome key factors and established a database which could belookup. BY means of exploring disease location and syndrome element characteristicsof Yege/esophageal cancer, we could summarize Yege/esophageal cancer syndromespathogenesis characteristics, and deepen the understanding of Yege/esophagealcancer disease syndrome in TCM.Method:①Literature finishing method: Literature on the etiology andpathogenesis of Yege was retrieved and sorted out from "China Medical Classics" CDand Literature on the treatment of esophageal cancer pathogenesis by TCM wascollected from CNKI from January1979to June2013.②The extraction method of syndrome element: This study which centered on etiologyand pathogenesis extracted standard of53general specification certificates byreference to the "syndrome differentiation learning" written by Zhu Wenfeng. Then,we completed the extraction of the disease location and the disease syndrome factor.③Statistical Analysis: The statistical data was proceeded frequency analysis, clusteranalysis and factor analysis by SPSS18.0for windows software.Results:①Yege ancient literature: From469satisfactory literature entries weselected35syndrome elements, of which frequency>10%respectively were Oistagnation, phlegm, blood, body fluid loss, hot, dry, Qi deficiency, blood stasis, inverse gas, Yang, worry, anger, dyspepsia. There were15focuses key factors, ofwhich frequency>10%respectively were Slip prime stomach, spleen, liver, coke, kidney, throat. High-frequency syndrome elements of cluster analysis formed fourtypes; High-frequency syndrome prime factor analysis extracted nine common factors.②Esophageal cancer modern literature: From141satisfactory literature entries we selected26syndrome elements,of which frequency>20%respectively were sputum, blood stasis, Qi stagnation, Qi, yin, desiccation, blood, body fluid loss, fiery, Yin, wet, poison, thinking, food product, worry, anger. There were13focuses key factors, ofwhich frequency>20%respectively were patients, respectively Slip prime spleen, stomach, liver, coke, throat, kidney. High-frequency syndrome elements of clusteranalysis forming nine types; high-frequency syndrome prime factor analysis extractedeight common factors. Conclusions: After the results of ancient literature Yege were analyzed, eventually we could summarize the basic pathogenesis of Yege into two solid and twovirtual characters; Similarly, we could summarize basically the pathogenesis ofesophageal cancer as three solid categories, two virtual characters and one mixedcharacter; The pathogenesis characters of Yege in ancient and esophageal cancer inmodem time had relevance and differences.
