Clinical Observation On Curing The Acute Lumbar Sprain By Pricking Blood With Cupping On WeiZhong Acupoint Combined With Exercise Versus Electroacupuncture

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy differences between pricking blood with cupping on WeiZhong Acupoint combined with exercise and electroacupuncture on treating the acute lumbar sprain.Methods60cases of acute lumbar sprain were selected in accordance to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. All cases were divided into two groups randomly,30cases in each group. Cases in treatment group received pricking blood with cupping on WeiZhong Acupoint combined with exercise therapy, while cases in control group received electroacupuncture therapy. Treatment were carried out everyday, the treatment cycle was3days. The VAS score, ROM score were recorded everyday before and after treatment, while clinical efficacies were evaluated at1st and3rd day.Result1. Comparing the VAS scores before and after treatment for the1st day, there was the statistically significant difference (P<0.05), as well as the comparison between treatment for2nd,3rd day and before treatment, suggesting that the VAS scores of treatment group were significantly lower than the control group.2. Comparing the ROM scores before and after treatment for1st day, there was statistically significant difference (P<0.001), as well as the comparison between treatment for2nd and3rd day and before treatment, suggesting that the ROM scores of treatment group were significantly lower than the control group.3. In the treatment group,21cases were cured, improved in8cases, one case was invalid, a cure rate of70%, as in the control group after treatment,7cases were cured, improved in10cases,13cases were invalid, with a cure rate23.33%. in the treatment group than the control group.ConclusionThe clinical efficacy of pricking blood with cupping on WeiZhong Acupoint combined with exercise was better than electroacupuncture on treating the acute lumbar sprain.
