| Objective:Through studying over application rules, the Indications, Combination and Dosage of Ginseng described in Dongyi Soose Bowon, the research is to provide guidance to effective clinical use of ginseng.Methods:the Korean medical classic, Dongyi Soose Bowon written by LEE Jema, a Korean medical scientist, in the late19ths, has a collection of24new prescriptions for Soeumin patients including13prescriptions containing ginseng, and28kinds of drugs which are prepared with combination of ginseng. By creating a table with WPSExcel2013, the study carried out preliminary statistics over data, and analyzed the ginseng combination frequency, average value, dosage, Index of ginseng in prescription Fangneizhishu, proportion of Ginseng in prescription Fangneibili and prescription formation etc. In addition, it gave an analysis for an optimal combination counterparty ingredient of ginseng, and analyzed the relations between ginseng combination and formation.Result:1. Among the prescriptions for Soeumin patients, the following six herbal ingredients are most often applied as combination counterparts of ginseng, respectively are radix glycyrrhizae preparata, Peony root, Ginger, Dates, Dried Tangerine Peel, and Radix Angelicae Sinensis.2. Most prescriptions containing ginseng for soeumin patients showed significant difference (P<0.05) while the dosage of ginseng varies.3. Most formation of LEE Jema’s prescriptions showed great difference while the dosage of ginseng changes.Conclusions:1. As the principal drug in the prescriptions of Dongyi Soose Bowon, ginseng is applied to treat Soeumin Patients suffering from Taeyang Illnesses, Yangmyeung Illnesses, Soeum Illnesses, Taeum Illnesses, and focal intestinal illnesses.2. Ginseng is described in Dongyi Soose Bowon to be applied primarily medically, and used in food preparation and moxibustion.3. Ginseng is applied as combination counterpart in31drugs, and many formations can be converted with ginseng.4. Ginseng functions effectively in reconciling the spleen when the dosage reaches5g, and it strengthens spleen when the dosage of ginseng reaches over10g. It can cure the syndrome of yang exhaustion with a dosage over50g. |
