Objective The police have a higher degree of occupational stress. Occupational stress can affect the healths of workers. Occupational stress is an important dangerous factor which induces the nervous system, immune function, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. The police (Exclusion of major diseases) which have a higher degree of occupational stress and without the metabolic syndrome (MS) randomly were divided in Tianjin City. We use biofeedback technique to conduct two-year follow-up work and a case control contrast about them.1We observe the changes of Systolic blood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure, Fasting blood glucose, Triglyceride,Dopamine,5-hydroxy tryptamine,Norepinephrine,Heat Shock Proteins, High density lipoprotein and Cortisol before and after treatment.2We observe the changes of Systolic blood pressure,Diastolic blood pressure,Fasting blood glucose,Triglyceride,Dopamine,5-hydroxy tryptamine,Norepinephrine,Heat Shock Proteins,High density lipoprotein and Cortisol after treatment in the biofeedback group and the control group.3We analyse the prevalence rate of the metabolic syndrome of two groups of people and test the intervention effect of biofeedback techniques on non metabolic syndrome. Methods The police(Exclusion of major diseases) which have a higher degree of occupational stress and without the Metabolic syndrome (MS) randomly were divided in the Tianjin. We conducted two-year follow-up work and a case control study.600police randomly were divided into2groups with stratified principle. Each group was300people, including the police in the biofeedback group that take part in the biofeedback and relaxation training, the police in the control group without any intervention. Results are used SPSS11.5statistical software for statistical analysis. The multi-group data were compared with the one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).Paired data between groups were analyzed by paired T test method.Results1Systolic blood pressure,Diastolic blood pressure,Fasting blood glucose,Triglyceride,Dopamine,5-hydroxy tryptamine,Norepinephrine,Heat Shock Proteins,High density lipoprotein and Cortisol were significantly lower than before in the biofeedback group(P<0.05), but no remarkable change in the contrast group.2 Diastolic blood pressure,Fasting blood glucose,Triglyceride,Dopamine,5-hydroxy tryptamine,Norepinephrine,Heat Shock Proteins,High density lipoprotein,Systolic blood pressureand Cortisol in the biofeedback group were significantly lower different from these items than in the contrast group (P<0.05).3Analysing the illness rate of MS of two groups, we can draw a conclusion that the prevalence rate were significantly lower than before in the biofeedback group. Conclusion In this paper, two years of follow-up study confirmed that the biofeedback treatment contributes index about the high pressure of the occupation groups in blood pressure, biochemical index and hormone levels. The biofeedback treatment contribute to lower its blood pressure, blood lipids, blood glucose and The prevalence of MS.After discussing positive effect of biofeedback, we can apply widespreadly clinical treatment and psychological intervention to occupation group in future.
