ObjectiveTo research the impact on pregnancy outcome after IVF-ET by intramuscul-ar Injection of hCG before embryo transfer and to explore methods of improvingthe rate of embryo implantation and clinical pregnancy rate.MethodsFrom January2011through January2013, We selected129patients underg-oing IVF at our center for treatment of infertility. The inclusion criteria were fe-male age under35years old with infertility due to simple pelvic factors or tubalfactors; menstrual cycle of25~35days; the number of basic antral follicles andbasic reproductive endocrinology show normal ovarian function; number of ooc-ytes is7~15; Body mass index range is18.4~24kg/m2. Exclusion criteria: patie-nts with uterine fibroids or adenomyosis or endometrial dysplasia or intrauterineadhesions or endometrial polyps; the presence of hydrosapinx; hCG allergies. All patients were treated with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (G-nRHa) long protocol for pituitary down-regulation. Giving triptorelin0.05or0.1mg/d subcutaneously on the7th day after ovulation or after18d of usin oralcontraceptives. Stimulation was commenced with gonadotropin when reacheddemotion standards, and timely given hCG250μg, oocyte retrieval after36h andgiven luteal support, embryo transfer was performed on day3after oocyte pick-up. The patients in study groups receiving either200IU of hCG or500IU ofhCG as intrauterine injection before ET, and a control group undergoing ET wit-hout a previous intrauterine injection of hCG. The pregnancy test performed2weeks after ET, and an ultrasound examination was performed2weeks after apositive pregnancy test to visualize the number and the location of gestational sacs and confirm fetal heart pulsations.ResultsInterim analysis of200IU group with control group showed no differencein the implantation rates or clinical pregnancy rates. Interim analysis of500IUgroup with control group showed significant difference in the clinical pregnancyrates and the implantation rates. patients of3-group with early spontaneous abo-rtion rates and ectopic pregnancy rates were compared respectively, the differe-nce was not statistically significant (P>0.05).ConclusionsAdd a certain dose hCG before embryo transfer can significantly improvethe clinical pregnancy rate and embryo implantation rate after IVF-ET, and toprovide new ideas for clinical drug programs.
