Objective(1) To understand the epidemiological features of nosocomial infections in traditionalChinese medicine hospital.(2) To investigate the predisposing factors for nosocomial infection and provide scientific basis for formulating prevention and control measures.MethodsThere were14172in-inpatients in this traditional Chinese medicine hospital from2012.1to2012.12. This research adopts sampling survey and retrospectivemethod.According to “Diagnosis Standard of Nosocomial Infection” enacted by theMinistry of the People,s Republic of China Jan in2001, a total of3270cases weresurveyed and114in-inpatients suffered from nosocomial infection.ResultsAmong3270cases,114in-inpatients suffered from nosocomial infection. There were16in-inpatients who had more than two sites, infections and altogether135sites infectionsoccurred. The nosocomial infection rate was3.49%and the site incidence rate was4.13%.The nosocomial infection rate had no significant difference in different season and sex.An age group, older than60years, suffered from nosocomial infection much moreeasyly than other age groups. The highest hospital incidence rate was in ICU,followedby Neurology and Oncology. The main infection sites were lower respiratory tract, upperrespiratory tract and urinary tract. THe most common pathogenic bacteria were mainlygram-negative bacteria, fungic and gram-positive bacteria. There were6risk factors wereselected in the multiple factors conditional logistic regression analysis. The factors werecoma, endotracheal intubation or tracheotomy, application of ventilator, urinarycatheter, the time of using antibiotic≥2weeks,combined use of antibiotic. ConclusionThe nosocomial infection rate is3.49%in traditional Chinese medicine hospital. It isobviously lower than the results from the reported at home and abroad. It is meaned thatthere were omission of hospital infection and abuse of antibiotics in it. According to thecross-section study on nosocomial infection,we can find out some problomes existed inthe NI management in time. And we can investigate the predisposing factors fornosocomial infection. And then we can take proper measures to reducehealthcare-associated infection through the objective monitoring in departments withhigh nosocomial infection rate.It will benefit the control and prevention of nosocomialinfection.
