The purpose of this paper introduces Veratrum nigrum L., researches the ephedrine of alkaloids in medicine material of Veratrum Linn.; extractes and separates the chemical composition of Parts of chloroform from the V.maackii Regel, and identificates of the chemical structure of alkaloids using the modern spectrum method and physical and chemical reaction. This article is divided into two parts, the first part is the review part, the research background and research deeply of the Veratrum Linn, condition were summarized in this part, in the second part, the core part of this paper,is the experimental section.Veratrum nigrumL., is a kind of Liliaceae Veratrum Linn. Plants;there is more than40species in the world. Veratrum nigrumL.of Chinese medicine includes VnigrumL., Vgrandiflorum(Maxim.)Loes.f., V.Schindleri Loes.f., V.taliense Loes.f., V.maackii Regel, V.japonicum(Baker)Loes.f., V.stenophyllum Diels, V.dahuricum (Turcz.)Loes.f., etc., mainly distributes in the northern hemisphere of temperate zone. According the record of the flora of China, there are13species and one varieties. The alkaloids of the roots is higher in the Veratrum nigrum L., the second is the root, stem leaf is very low, so generally taking the roots of Veratrum nigrum L. as a medicine parts. Huang di records that Veratrum nigrum L. can chung spit wind phlegm and insecticidal healing sores; GeHong’s elbow backup fang and li shizhen’s Compendium of materia medica record the clinical therapeutic effect of Veratrum nigrumL.; But Veratrum nigrumL. also has great toxicity, treatment dose and toxic dose is near, the toxic mechanism is unclear. In order to the further study of Veratrum nigrumL., firstly we study the chemical composition of V.maackii Regel.In this experiment, using silica gel column and gel column, macroporous resin column and others column chromatography separates the chemical composition of V.maackii Regel,using spectral techniques such as:1H-NMR,13C-NMR, HMBC, HMQC, ESI-MS identificates the structure the chemical composition. Seven species compounds are identified from V.maackii Regel.they are tomatillidine-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (L1*),Veratroylzygadenine (L2), Verazinine (L3), medioresinol (L4), Vanillic acid (L5), Erythrosyringoylglycerol (L6),1-O-(Nonanoyl)glycerol (L7); The L1*is a new compound,L5is obtained for the first time from V.maackii Regel, L4, L6, L7are obtained for the first time from the Veratrum.
