The Study Of Patient Satisfaction With Fixed Partial Dentures And Influence Factors Of Satisfaction

ObjectiveTo investigate the patient satisfaction with fixed partial dentures, and analyze theinfluences of personality, expectation, dental anxiety, demographic factors on patientsatisfaction. To provide some clinical guidances for improving the patient satisfactionwith fixed partial dentures.Methods120patients who were treated with fixed partial dentures in the HanGao dentalclinic were selected according to the choosing standard. Individual Data List andquestionnaires(Eysenck Personality Questionnaire Short Scale For Chinese, ModifiedDental Anxiety Scale, Satisfaction Questionnaire and Expectation Questionnaire)wereused to study the patient satisfaction. SPSS17.0was used to analyze the relationshipbetween patient satisfaction and its influencing factors.Results1、 Overall satisfaction of the patients with fixed partial denture was85.46%.2、 The differences of patient satisfaction among the groups divided by gender, age,educational level and the average monthly income are statistically significant.And the differences of patient satisfaction among the groups divided by maritalstatus and occupation types are not statistically significant.3、 There is no statistically significant correlation (r=-0.101, p=0.326>0.05)between expectations and satisfaction.4、 Positive correlation is tested among the patient satisfaction with color,appearance, comfort, stability, chewing ability of fixed partial dentures and Escale standard score. The overall satisfaction is positive correlation with the Escale standard score too. Negative correlation is tested among the patient satisfaction with color, comfort, chewing ability of fixed partial dentures and NScale standard score. The overall satisfaction is negative correlation with the Nscale standard score too. P and L scale standard score don’t have statisticallysignificant correlation with the patient satisfaction.5、 Correlation between dental anxiety and satisfaction was statistically significant (r=-0.235, p=0.001<0.05).Conclusions1、 Overall patient satisfaction with fixed partial denture was85.46%.2、 The patient satisfaction with fixed partial denture is related to their sex, age,educational level and average income. There are no statistically significantcorrelation among the patient satisfaction, expectation, marital status andoccupation types.3、 The patients who are extroversive and good communicator can obtain greatersatisfaction. The patients who can control their emotion can obtain greatersatisfaction.4、 The satisfaction of patients with dental anxiety is lower.
