Objective To explore the value of DSCT dual-energy technology detected goutyarthritis, compare the diagnosis of gouty arthritis and asymptomatic hyperuricemiawith ultrasound.Methods90patients were selected from2011to2013in the Second AffiliatedHospital of Fujian Medical University who were scanned by DSCT dual energytechnique, which were included31cases gout group,21cases asymptomatichyperuricemia group and38cases no gout group. The scanned site included thebilateral foot, ankle, knee, hand and wrist. All the patients were scanned DSCT dualenergy technique. The dates were reconstructed by Siemens console computer andworkstation. The output images were sent to Gout software, which could display theurate crystal deposition on joints. Each patients diagnosed with gouty arthritis andasymptomatic hyperuricemia also accepted ultrasound examination at the same timeto show urate deposition.Results1.GA group A doctor found there were108joints detected urate crystals,which the mean volume was0.62±1.14cm3and B doctor112,0.70±1.25cm3. Therewere good consistency of number (=0.752, P<0.05) and volum(eICC=0.95, P<0.01).2.GA group A doctor found there were108joints detected urate crystals in the firsttime which the mean volume was0.62±1.14cm3and102,0.65±1.20cm3in the secondtime. There were good reproducibility of number (=0.750, P<0.05) and volume(ICC=0.96, P<0.01).3. The diagnostic test of the number of joints DSCT detectedurate crystals derived sensitivity76.6%, specificity77.8%, accuracy77.0%, positivepredictive value87.1%and negative predictive value62.9%.4.GA group the numberof joints of DSCT detected urate crystals were106and Ultrasonography85. Thenumber of joints of DSCT detected urate crystals were more than ultrasound. Therewere statistically significant on difference(P<0.05).5.Asymptomatic hyperuricemiagroup the number of joints of DSCT detected urate crystals were60andultrasonography46. The number of joints of DSCT detected urate crystals were morethan ultrasound. There were statistically significant on difference(P<0.05).Conclusion1.There was good consistency and reproducibility which DSCTdual-energy technology diagnosed gouty arthritis.2.DSCT dual-energy technologywas better than ultrasound not only on diagnosing gouty arthritis, but also the earlierdetecting urate crystal deposition of asymptomatic hyperuricemia.
