Monitor Of Fruit Flies In Shaanxi And Suspected Species Of Oriental Fruit Fly Investigation In 2015

Shaanxi province is an important base of fruit production and export trade, where is rich in many temperate zone fruits such as apple, kiwi fruit, grapes and citrus, the planting area of apple and kiwi fruit all are No.1 in China, southern Shaanxi is also a high-quality citrus production area. The trade of fruit import and export in an important part of Shaanxi province economic development, therefore, the safety of fruit production is essential.Fruit fly is one kink of great damage, more kinds of host plants more easily spread fruit pests. Which include oriental fruit fly, Mediterranean fruit fly and other international quarantine pests, named “killer of fruits and vegetables”. The oriental fruit fly have harmful heavy in the south of China, because of low temperature, it can’t overwintering in the north of China, but in recent years, with the strengthening of fruit trade, it have been found in Zhengzhou and Beijing, many counties in Shaanxi are also found Bactrocera sp. last year.Therefore, in order to understand the distribution of fruit fly in Shaanxi province, monitoring fruit fly in Shaanxi and investigating the source of Bactrocera sp. are extremely urgent.In order to investigate occurrence of fruit fly in Shaanxi and source of Bactrocera sp.,we set up monitoring points in Shaanxi and Xi’an from May to October, applying pheromone traps to monitor the number of fruit flies, and analyzed the source of oriental fruit fly. The results show that:(1)There have no fruit fly found in the North of Shaanxi, The dominant species in south of Shaanxi is the pumpkin fruit fly, and there have no Bactrocera sp.;(2)The suspected oriental fruit fly only appeared in the Guanzhong area of Shaanxi province, and compared with two years before the results of surveys, the number increased significantly and scope are expanding, it has become dominant species;(3)Fruit flies occurs for end of June,peak occurs in the middle of September to early October in the Guanzhong area of Shaanxi province;(4)The suspected oriental fruit fly may have been settled in Guanzhong area of Shaanxi province.
