Study On Turfgrass Bed Characteristic And Maintenance Measures On Jintai Golf Course In Liaoning Province

In order to improve the turfgrass quality, solve the mistakes of maintenance, reduce the cost of management, maximize the function and value and realize the sustainable healthy development of golf course, the characteristics of turfgrass bed were studied on Jintai golf course in Liaoning province from 2013 to 2015, and a series of maintenance measures were summarized, then the internal relationship of maintenance spending and maintenance measures were discussed using the method of combining experiment and practice. The results are as follows:(1) A significant difference of turfgrass quality was found in different areas and different years. The pH of soil on golf course was weak alkaline, and there were no significant difference among different areas, such as green area, fairway area, half roughs and roughs. The result of soil conductivity showed that the growth of grass will not be affected by soil salt content. The content of organic matter, available phosphorus, available potassium, exchangeable magnesium and effective manganese content was well-balanced in soil, but exchangeable calcium was lower than normal value in soil of all areas, and effective iron was lower than normal value in soil of green area and roughs. In addition, the significant difference was found in different areas of these indicators. Furthermore, the change of available phosphorus and available potassium content in soil among different years was closely related to the adjustment of fertilizer rate and maintenance method on the basis of soil test.(2) The implementation of maintenance plan and measures in different region on golf course should be based on the field of climate conditions, turfgrass bed characteristics and turfgrass quality of different areas. To promote the growth of the grass roots, prevent bacteria infection, and reduce the turfgrass symptoms, various conservation measures, including trimming, punching and sparse grass, sand, water and pest management, should be arranged scientifically and reasonably. At the same time, reasonable coverage and irrigation in winter were applied to ensure the security of the turfgrass wintering and turning-green early next year. Finally, the turfgrass quality was improved and the cost of maintenance was reduced effectively.(3) Based on characteristics turfgrass bed, the spending of actual maintenance was lower than the budget because of adopting the correct and reasonable measures of maintenance and management. Annual average cost of maintenance on golf course was about 3.15 million Yuan. The percentage of different programs spending from high to low was personnel salary, pesticide, fertilizers, machinery accessories, fuel and sand. The spending of pesticide, fertilizers and sand was closely related to the measures of maintenance and management. Moreover, the spending of irrigation facilities maintenance, grass seed, regular maintenance tools and winter warm material purchase and other costs was relatively few in total cost.
