In recent years, with the improvement of quality of life, the safety degree of the living environment is becoming more and more important. We are breathing frequently. However, among the seemingly fresh air, it may also hide the harmful gas. Like the radon gas. Radon is the only natural radioactive inert gases, when people breathe in the radon gas, as radon decay, the emit radioactive alpha particles will cause radiation injury to the body’s respiratory system, serious can induce lung cancer. Soil radon is the main source of indoor radon and it is also a result of the combined action of multiple factors. Among them, the soil type is one of the main factors influencing soil radon concentration. Therefore, research the relationship between soil radon concentration and soil type has important significance for environmental assessment in the future.To study relationship between soil radon concentration and soil type, which is study the physical parameters of the soil on the influence of soil radon concentration. This paper based on the typical soil profile information that is recorded in China Soil Database, combined with the actual situation, select the Beijing Tongzhou district, Fengtai and Mentougou district for field measurement. Measurement data including the soil radon concentration and soil gas permeability at different depth, and the soil radon exhalation rate and the content of uranium, thorium, potassium at each measuring point. At the same time, using the cutting ring collected soil samples of different depth, back to the lab for the measurement and calculation of soil physical parameters, including moisture content, density, porosity and particle density, and using the indoor high-purity germanium gamma spectrometer to have a indoor spectrum analysis of soil samples. In combination with the soil radon concentration data of Zhongshan and Baotou in the lab, through the analysis, it is concluded that: Soil radium content is one of the main factors influencing soil radon concentration, there is a proportional relation between soil radium content and soil radon concentration. When the soil radium content level is well-matched, the soil radon concentration of clay soil is higher than that of sandy soil. Different soil texture, the differences of soil gas permeability may lead to the differences of soil radon concentration. The soil radon concentration and soil moisture content of point DMZ showed a good positive correlation with the change of soil depth, and the correlation coefficient is 0.925.In conclusion, the soil type is one of the main factors influencing soil radon concentration, and different physical parameters of the soil have different influence degree on soil radon concentration, some influence factors still need further study.
