The Chinese medicine granules of "Baoganhushentuomeisu" is made Astragalus, skullcap, Schisandra, Alisma, Bupleurum components. The drug is used to improve animal immunity and repair liver damage caused by mycotoxins. To evaluate the safety of "Baoganhushentuomeisu", acute toxicity、subchronic toxicity and Ames test were conducted.1.Acute Toxicity Test. To evaluate the safety of "Baoganhushentuomeisu",20 Clean-level rats, half of male and female, were orally treated with 40ml/kg-bw "Baoganhushentuomeisu", continuous observation of 14 days. The results showed that the was no death of all the 20 Clean-level rats, Revealing that "Baoganhushentuomeisu" Tbelongs to reveal no actual toxic.2.Sub-chronic toxicity test. The 80 SD rats were randomly divided into four groups,0 g/kg-bw (group I),2 g/kg-bw (group II),6 g/kg-bw (groupIII),10g/kgbw (groupIV) dose administered once daily for 30d. The biochemical parameters of blood and histopathology of rats were observed in 10thd, the 20thd,30thd, and the 14^1 after stopping administration.blood routine:All the index of blood were in the normal range on observation time of test. The effects of biochemical indicators.-all group of rats testing showed that biochemical indicators was no significantly difference in organ coefficient (P> 0.05).Blood biochemical index:there was no significantly difference in organ coefficient (P> 0.05) between experimental groups and control group.3.Ames tests.4 different concentrations (50mg/ml,25mg/ml,12.5mg/ml, 5mg/ml) of "Baoganhushentuomeisu" was prepared for Ames test. In the fiat-plate Incorporation test of Salmonella typhimurium, the average number of spontaneous revertants of TA97, TA98, TAJ00, and TA 102 at four concentrations was calculated after incubation at 37℃ for 48 hours. The results showed that whether adding S9 or not, the number of induced revertants did not increase significantly compared to that of spontaneous revertants. The Ames test was negative. It indicated that "Baoganhushentuomeisu" did not cause the increase of the back mutation in routine typhoid Salmonella and could not cause gene mutation.
