The Development Of Management Information System For The Breeding And Production In Rex Rabbit

At present, to choose the optimal Rex Rabbit and speed up the progress in genetic after multiple generations of breeding, the data should be recorded, such as pedigree, reproduction and disease and feed management etc. However, in the industry of rabbit keeping, the application of management information system (MIS) is relatively weak, and it has no a perfectly suitable domestic information management software be used so far.In this paper, The MIS of the breeding and production for Rex Rabbit was developed using SQLite as database, QtSDK as integrated development environment and C++ as programming language. This system was developed into four basic modules which were data entry module, production statistic module, breeding analyze module and system management module. The data input module are comprised by two sub modules which are breeding data flow input and production data input. The former is to record all available breeding information resulted from born stage to four selections, mating stage, while the latter is to build production record based on group or individual unit. The production statistic module can calculate statistics by different ways displayed in reports which is convenient to view for users, including statistics for production performance, living situation, feed consumption, drug use and sales, etc. Breeding analyze module is useful to implement the breeding of Rex Rabbit, which includes the BLUP methods evaluation of interesting traits, as well as selection index and genetic parameters calculation, establishment of mating schedule, and other functions, moreover, this module can also collect and analyze the result of genetic evaluation, and calculate mating ability among species and lines. System management is to set parameters in the whole system, including the information of user authority management, personnel management, setting different fields and data security management.The software developed in this paper has integrated the advantages of other breeding software existed in china, which has merits as follow.1. The visual performance of this software facilitates each step of breeding and production work.2. The SQLite database platform has been adopted which is not rely on the third-party software and can be compiled and installed with the developed software.3. Data can be input and output in highly efficiency, users can import data based on system-defined format directly and query any data required in any query interface, and then output by save as form.4. The production reports display a variety of statistic based on user’s needs.5. The query mode includes individual query, group query and pedigree query, which facilitates user’s different query modes.
