Hybrid tulip tree(Liriodendron chinense X tulipifera) is obtained through interspecific hybridization between the tulip tree (Liriodendron chinense Hemsl.Sarg.)and Liriodendron(Liriodendrontulipifera), compared with the parents of tulip tree, it has obvious advantages, such as strong adaptability, strong cold-tolerance and drought-tolerance ability; rapid growth, distinct growth dominance. Since its good material, it can be a good paper making and cultivated to be a kind of high quality large diameter wood. Because of its high value of ornamental, it is a good landscape trees, it is not only applicable for plains planted, but also suitable for mountain afforestation. Xianyou County belong to typical subtropical maritime monsoon climate, loose soil texture and fertility in the medium, close to that of hybrid Liriodendron chinense range of growing conditions. So our group of Nanjing forestry University and cultivation technology of hybrid Liriodendron chinense research results, carried out in suitable area, Xianyou afforestation technique of hybrid Liriodendron chinense camp application and benefits of addressing the research results provide theoretical basis for large scale cultivation of hybrid Liriodendron, Xianyou. Through years of research results are as follows:1、At the Shuanglin forest farm of Xianyou County,7 acres of new hybrid tulip tree scion plucking nursery was built use by barren hills and farmland, and the bars of the scion seed tree was cut in March 3,2011 and June 4th, the height was controlled in general 15cm. According to the application materials and related technology from Nanjing Forestry University, a 30-acre breeding nursery of Liriodendron hybrid pedigrees was created (including:cutting area, cutting and transplanting area), The hybrid tulip tree cutting experiment began in Shuangxi forest farm in March 2011. From 2011 to 2013, there were 60000 strains of cutting propagation, after three years, the survival rate of hybrid tulip tree cutting is as high as 90%.The result show that the application of Liriodendron hybrid breeding technology of Nanjing Forestry University is very successful.2 November 2012 in Xianyou Zhongshan Town Creek, near the water, Lang Village reference 2011 of 60,000 seedlings propagation cuttings, creating 615 acres of demonstration bases.Choosing the 1-2 years old cutting seedlings of hybrid tulip tree for afforestation. The Hybrid tulip tree afforestation measures of Nanjing Forestry University,Through the test, the survival rates of hybrid tulip trees are above 95%. It shows that the work is worthy to be promoted.3、In the cultivation experiment, the average height of the 3 -year-old hybrid tulip tree is 3.1m, the average DBH is 2.6cm, both to meet the design requirements.4、During the period of the experiment, with plant protection agent to control pest. And the occurrence rate of insect pest is zero, so the matching technique is feasible.According to the expected requirements:the survival rate of cuttings should be more than 80%,Hybrid tulip tree planting survival rate of more than 85%, the height of 3-year-old seedlings must above 2.5m,and the average diameter at breast height should be at least 2.0cm, the incidence rate of plant diseases and insect pests must be controlled under 8%. And these four aspects of the experimental results all exceed the expectations of the main economic and technical indexes, the standardization, industrialization production requirements. So this technology can be promoted widely.5、Preliminary analysis on test efficiency. Economic benefit:during the test, cultivation of hybrid tulip wood cuttings were 180,000 strains, the price of cutting seedlings is2.5 yuan/strain, direct benefit reached 450,000 yuan, and the seedlings in short supply; in addition, the performance of hybrid tulip wood and Masson pine is equivalent in making pulp, and the economy benefit of hybrid fiber timber and plywood plantation is in a similar level. According to the felling age is 30 years, and the price trend in the recent 5 years, after 30 years the hybrid tulip tree felling of lumber price will be 1200 yuan per m3,and the wood is expected 9.0m3/mu, the benefit is expected to reach 10,800 yuan per mu. Social benefit:the base construction of hybrid tulip tree plantation, through seedling cultivation and curing demonstration afforestation technology, will enhance the cultivation and management level of hybrid tulip tree, and open up new pulp wood and plywood material channels for subtropical regions, so as to attract a large number of private capital investment in hybrid tulip tree industry, and promote the development of the industry. Ecological benefits:The hybrid tulip trees are good for the improvement of forest soil, atmosphere, water pollution, the protection of biodiversity and ecological environment improvement. At the same time, this experiment expanding the planting range of the tulip tree and other precious tree and play the leading role, not only increasing the forest coverage, but also optimizing the local forest structure and industrial structure. Especially the large deciduous of hybrid tulip every year, resulting in alleviating the artificial coniferous soil degradation, productivity decline, deterioration of the ecological environment plays an important role.Through the above experimental results and analysis, the research achievement in the field of highly effective cultivation technology of the tulip tree of Nanjing Forestry University is good, the benefit is remarkable, and it can be popularized and applied in Xianyou county.
