Seed coating is an important step of seed processing, coated seeds have higher germination rate and better resistance to disease and insect. In recent years, seed coating technology has been widely used in seed industry.Seed coating machine is the main platform to realize the seed coating technology. The design process of traditional seed coating machine pay more attention on the improvement by mechanical principles to increase the productivity, and the internal control system only involves a simple operation on the coating process by switching on/off motors. Simple human-computer interaction, low degree of automation, not accurate enough coating parameters and lack of ability of the system to resist interference all have a great impact on the coating effects.This thesis introduces the research on detection and control systems research to develop a seed coating equipment with high quality and advanced processing technology. Compared to the traditional seed coating machine, the equipment has the following improvements. First, a coating process overall program based on precise measurement and control of seeds weight and liquid amount is designed to improve the automated and fine degree of the seed coating machine. Second, in order to realize accurate detection of the seeds weight, this thesis studied the impact of vibration factors on the detection results during the working process of seed coating machine, and correct the detection results combined with the analysis on experimental data. Third, according to the seed coating process, a high-performance detection and control system of seed coating machine is designed. The circuits design and component selection meets high accuracy as much as possible, the hardware and software environment of the entire system is built up, and some anti-interference measures are added to enhance the reliability of the system. Fourth, a new type of touch screen can provide users with a friendly interactive tool that allows users not only easy to monitor the seed coating process, but also a more flexible way to choose manual or automatic control mode according to the actual needs.
