| The number of pets increasing day by day as the people economic level improved. On April2012, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the number of dogs in China reached up to130million that ranked first place in the world. Concomitant rise in the demand of dogs as pet rises the concerns regarding pet health care and prevention of important canine diseases.In this article, we studied the pet cases from2004to2008and from2011to2013in a pet hospital of Wuhan in order to analyze the most popular cases in recent three years. The proportion of the incidence of infectious diseases in dogs from2004to2008and2011to2013were compared. We found that the incidence of major diseases of dogs in the past three years was declined.:Canine parvovirus disease was having highest incidence ratio among the other infectious diseases. This disease can break out in all four seasons, autumn has the highest incidence ratio of33.48%and summer has the lowest incidence ratio with the average of19.87%. This disease affected the dogs of all ages. However, the puppies of less than2months of age were having the highest incidence ratio with an average of46.21%.Canine distemper is one of the major infectious diseases of dogs that showed higher incidence ratio in three years. This disease was present in all four seasons. It has a higher incidence ratio in spring and autumn with an average of26.30%and26.67%respectively. Whereas, in summer the incidence ratio was the lowest as22.96%and the puppies of less than2month of age were having the highest incidence ratios with an average of42.59%.Canine eperythrozoonosis is also one of the major infectious disease in dogs which also showed a higher incidence ratio in recent three years. It also showed a higher incidence of disease all four seasons. Whereas in winter the incidence ratio was highest with the average of about32.82%. However, the incidence ratio in summer was the lowest with the average of15.06%. Moreover, the puppies less than2months of age were having the highest incidence ratio with the average of42.59%.After all, we collected and summarized the data collected from pet hospital in order to study the prevalence of some common infectious diseases of dogs. |
