Forests are the main terrestrial ecosystems, are the basis for the survival of humanbeing, the backbone of life system on earth, the key factor of maintaining the ecological balance. Forest resources provide the necessary space and resources for human survival, at the same time, improving the ecological environment. However, China’s forest resources is not only inadequate but unevenly distributed. Tianjin, which is located in the eastern coastal regions of China, is lack of forest resources, the soil is salinization, and ecological environment is very fragile.Through the investigation of forest resources, the current situation of local forest resources is fully understood. Through analysis and summary of the number、types and quality of forest, to analyze and evaluate the local forests, to make the forestry development policy to achieve reasonable use of forests, balance development and scientific management. This study is to explore new ways of forest resources on the basis of Tianjin forestry resources investigation, improve forest resources management system, to achieve timely updating and real-time monitoring for Tianjin forest resources, to realize coordinated development of social environment and the sustainable utilization of forest resources.
