| With the vigorous development of breeding industry, the manure produced can’t be disposed effectively in time. Long-time’s compost can lead to lots of flies around the livestock manure, which will bring a serious threat to breeding safety and people’s health. Aerobic composting is a safe and effective way to handle the manure, which can reduce the pollution and result in waste recycling. We designed a closed compost bioreactor equipment to dispose farm solid waste which has theoretical significance and practical value.Through the study of in-vessel composting technology and characteristics of farm manure, we determined the basic requirements and designed the structure of C50 compost reactor. The machine is made up of material loader, discharge outlet, agitator, aeration system and transmission system.Through analysis and calculation of the oxygen consumption in composting fermentation, the C50 compost bioreactor’s ventilation rates should be greater than 358m3/h. To establish mathematic model for agitator, we get the main shaft’s torque is 537350N-m. Then we designed a transmission system, the ratchet and pawl mechanism which can transmit high torque with low speed.3D model was built and finite element analysis was carried out on the ratchet. Based on the processing cost and the maximum stress, the basic parameters of the ratchet are obtained:top diameter is 1140mm, the thickness is 120mm, and the circular bead is 50 mm. The weight of ratchet is 689kg and the maximum stress is 139.8MPa.By manufacturing a prototype, we made a composting experimental study to manure in a large scale of chicken farm. After 7 days fermentation period, the product present tawny, with it’s moisture content of 28.83%. And the following germination test with the compost shows it’s seed germination rate is 78.3% with a GI of 57.08%. From the result, we can conclude that the composting is mature and non-toxic. |
