Fruit is the third largest industry of plantation in China. With the development of agricultural informatization, "digital orchard" and "orchard informatization" had emerged. The full use of modern mapping technology, computer and network technology and other knowledge in apple orchard information research had become an inevitable trend of the world apple industry development. In this study, the research demonstration area was Tai’an City, the main contents and results are as follows.(1) The estimating model of soil moisture was researched based on Hyper-spectrum. Five types of transformation were applied to the soil reflectance to remove noise and improve correlativity. Using single correlation analyzing method and based on the maximum correlation coefficient, the best retrieved deduction factors were selected and the pattern recognition vector was established. The results showed that the best pattern classes were seven and the test sample recognition accuracy reached 94.4%, and further research found that the ability of hyper-spectrum in distinguishing soil weight moisture was about four percent.(2) The estimating model of soil organic matter content was studied. Based on partial least square(PLS) and projection pursuit regression(PPR), a new model named PLS-PPR was put forward. The raw spectral data of soil samples was transformed into the first-order differential. The wet soil spectra was corrected by PLS, PPR and PLS-PPR. Some stepwise regression models were built up. The results showed that the determination coefficient of the model corrected by PLS-PPR increased by 0.3778 and the residual standard deviation decreased by 0.2279. The model can be used to weaken the effect of soil water effectively.(3) The apple orchard information management and services system was build. Based on 3S technology, computer and network technology, taking Visual Basic as the visual programming platform and combined with GIS development component, the apple orchard information management and services system was successfully developed. This system not only had the basic function, but also achieved six-class map browsing, orchards 3D virtual scene display, multimedia player and other functions. Test results showed that the system was stable and it could meet the basic needs of the users.
